Did Colin Cowherd Win? Week 2 Picks Steelers, Eagles and Chargers Zap Blazin’ 5

NFL Week 2 Blazin’ 5 by Colin Cowherd picks include the Eagles and Steelers. Hurts will be too mobile for the 49ers to handle.

It’s been a subpar start to the 2021 NFL season for Colin Cowherd’s Blazin’ 5. In Week 2, his record mirrored Week 1, as he went 2-3.

Despite ripping both teams in his season-long predictions, Cowherd picked the Philadelphia Eagles (+3) and the Pittsburgh Steelers (-6.5) to cover. The Eagles lost 17-11 and the Steelers were upset by the Raiders.

What Cowherd said about the Steelers after Week 1

Cowherd after the Steelers 23-16 win over the Bills:

“The Steelers think I am always picking on them. Pittsburgh is so good in the defensive front seven. They will completely disrupt you. Big Ben averaged 5.9 per attempt. He is not accurate or efficient. He looked old. They can’t run the ball. What are they going to look like in Week 17? I don’t see the traits. It’s going to win them 8 or 9 games.”

What Cowherd said about the Steelers after Week 1

Cowherd tweeted:

“Can’t believe I’m saying this but …. The Eagles have look so good today. Buttoned up. Sharp. I need to sleep on this. My world has been turned upside down.”

Colin Cowherd’s 2021 Week 2 NFL picks

Before he started giving out his predictions for Week 2, he doled out this betting advice:

“My belief in betting is to take points, especially if you have a confident quarterback. Fan’s belief is to take favorites. This week was a weird week. If you looked at the initial lines, I liked almost every favorite. I almost never take all favorites.”

New Orleans Saints vs. Carolina Panthers (-3.5)

Colin’s pick: Panthers

Colin’s final score: Panthers 28, Saints 23

Cowherd said:

“This is the Saints second straight road game. They are living out of hotels. The Matt Rhule effect, since the start of last year Carolina has had the fewest three-and-outs in the NFL with Bridgewater and Darnold. This is a really well-coached offensive team. They run it and don’t let you run it.”

Actual final score Panthers 26, Saints 7

Did Colin win? Yes

Los Angeles Rams vs. Indianapolis Colts (+3.5)

Colin’s pick: Colts

Colin’s final score: Colts 27, Rams 26

Cowherd said:

“You know my rule, well-coached good teams that play like crap always bounce back. Colts were awful last week. Jonathan Taylor has topped 100 yards from scrimmage in five of his last seven games. How do you beat the Rams? You take the Ball out of Sean McVeigh’s hands. This offensive line was pushed around last week and rebound. The Colts have lost eight straight Week 1 games. They’ve won Week 2 in each of the last three seasons.”

Actual final score: Rams 27, Colts 24

Did Colin win? Yes

San Francisco 49ers vs. Philadelphia Eagles (+3)

Colin’s pick: Eagles

Colin’s final score: Eagles 24, 49ers 23

Cowherd said:

“This is an interesting game, you know I was down on Philadelphia. But Philadelphia is at home for the opener. Mobile quarterbacks have given the Niners trouble through the years. Jalen Hurts moves around. The Eagles defense against the high-powered Falcons totally shut them down. They couldn’t move the chains with a veteran quarterback, star tight end, star wide receiver and good o-line. Philadelphia was 3-for-3 in the Red Zone. The line play for the Eagles was the secret sauce last week. The Niners lost their best cornerback for the year and it looks like the Eagles have a couple stars at wide receiver. Upset.”

Actual final score 49ers 17, Eagles 11

Did Colin win? No

Las Vegas Raiders vs. Pittsburgh Steelers (-6.5)

Colin’s pick: Steelers

Colin’s final score: Steelers 30, Raiders 23

Cowherd said:

“You know I don’t like big numbers but like it…I love it. Short week for the Raiders and they have to travel across the country. The defense in Week 1 was relentless against an offensive line that’s as least as good or better than the Raiders. No quarterback in the league struggles more under pressure than Derek Carr and Matt Ryan. Carr was 1-9 with a pick. The relentless Steelers defense will own the Raiders. This is my favorite bet of the week.”

Actual final score Raiders 26, Steelers 17

Did Colin win? No

Dallas Cowboys vs. Los Angeles Chargers (-3.5)

Colin’s pick: Chargers

Colin’s final score: Chargers 33, Dallas 27

Cowherd said:

“The sharps like the Cowboys. Yes, Dallas will probably be the home team. Dallas has multiple injuries up front. In the backend of the secondary, multiple injuries. They didn’t sack Brady and they only got two hits on him. Justin Herbert against a better defensive front was unbelievable on third down. With more time to throw and a worse secondary…I like the Chargers. The Chargers are on a 5-game winning streak. The Cowboys are 0-17 since 2019 scoring less than 30 points.I don’t think they are going to have the ball enough.”

Actual final score Cowboys 20, Chargers 17

Did Colin win? No

Did Colin Cowherd Win? A Subpar Start for Blazin’ 5 As He is Bit by Lions Pick

Colin Cowherd returns with his Blazin’ 5 and “Boom Bet” boost at Fox Bet Sportsbook PA for the 2021 NFL season. Here’s his Week 1 picks.

Let’s blaze it up again. Colin Cowherd’s Blazin’ 5 returns for the 2021 NFL season. It will be the third year PAOC has tracked Cowherd’s NFL picks.

  • 2020 Blazin’ 5 record: 38-38-2
  • 2019 Blazin’ 5 record: 42-41-3

Cowherd’s season-long predictions called for the Philadelphia Eagles to finish 3-14 and the Pittsburgh Steelers to be below average. Before Cowherd revealed his Week 1 picks, he basically made excuses for 2020.

“I feel better about Week 1 today then I did at Week 1 a year ago. If you bet football last year it was a throwaway year. It was a ridiculous year where no one had information. Sometimes you were better off taking favorites which is which is what gamblers never do. I was mostly lousy last year. I got a preseason this year so I can see what I am getting.”

Pittsburgh Steelers (+6.5) vs. Buffalo Bills

Colin’s pick: Steelers

Colin’s final score: Bills 27, Steelers 24

Cowherd said:

“At the beginning of last year the Steelers were healthy. They are healthy now. They led the NFL in QB hits they led in most sacks and allowed the fewest sacks. The Bills’ offensive line is just okay. The Bills defense is third-worst in the Red Zone. The Steelers offensive line is in transition. The Bills haven’t shown an ability so far to take advantage of that because the d-line is their weakness. Proud organizations who get humiliated at the end of the year like Pittsburgh did come back focused with a vengeance. I think this is a potential upset. I have the Bills winning on a late field goal.”

Actual final score: Steelers 23, Bills 16

Did Colin win? Yes

New York Jets vs. Carolina Panthers (-4.5)

Colin’s pick: Panthers

Colin’s final score: Panthers 27, Jets 20

Cowherd said:

“I’ve shifted on this because of new information. The Jets strength is their denfensive front and they’ve had multiple injuries the past few weeks. This Jets offense…Zach Wilson’s NFL debut, he’s inheriting a mess. Christian McCaffrey is healthy and only three teams in the NFL including Carolina had three receivers with over 1,000 yards. Carolina’s o-line isn’t great but I don’t think the Jets banged up team can expose it.”

Actual final score: Panthers 19, Jets 14

Did Colin win? Yes

San Francisco 49ers vs. Detroit Lions (+7.5)

Colin’s pick: Lions

Colin’s final score: 49ers 26, Lions 24

Cowherd said:

“Upset alert. Can we stop saying Jared Goff is terrible. In the history of No. 1 picks, he has the second-highest passer rating ever behind Peyton Manning. He also has D’Andre Swift, they have a star running back. All this kid (Goff) has heard for the past six months is how terrible he his. Many believe the Lions’ strengths are their d-line and their o-line. He’s got a star running back and some stuff to work with. Bad teams don’t know they are bad in the first week. What is Dan Campbell going to do? Jimmy Garoppolo lost confidence more than once in the preseason. He’s not the same Super Bowl Garoppolo. Upset alert. Detroit will give them everything they can handle.”

Actual final score: 49ers 41, Lions 33

Did Colin win? No

“I don’t know what I was thinking with the Lions. I got too cute. That’s the last time I will be taking the Lions this year,” Cowherd tweeted at halftime when the Lions were down 31-10.

Los Angeles Chargers vs. Washington Football Team (-.5)

Colin’s pick: Washington

Colin’s final score: Washington 27, Chargers 20

Cowherd said:

“This will be the best defensive front Justin Herbert has ever faced. Washington is completely stacked up front. Chase Young as a rookie had 7.5 sacks and ten tackles for losses and is only getting better. A rebuilt Chargers o-line could be good, do I think it will be in Week 1? Western teams who travel east for an early game is never easy. They have a new coach. First year NFL coached in Week 1 are a combined 1-12-1 over the last three years. Tough opener for the Chargers.”

Actual final score: Chargers 20, Washington 16

Did Colin win? No

Cleveland Browns vs. Kansas City Chiefs (-5.5)

Colin’s pick: Chiefs

Colin’s final score: Chiefs 44, Brows 26

Cowherd said:

“It was 6.5 so I feel I kind of got a break with this line. Kansas City has the best September coach in the NFL. The Chiefs have won 6 straight openers. In September, Mahomes has thrown 32 TDs and no picks. The Browns are interesting. When they figured out Stefanski’s culture they were good at the end of the year but they were the only team with a winning record with a minus point differential (-11). This is not a good spot for them starting at Arrowhead against a team that was humiliated in the Super Bowl.”

Actual final score: Chiefs 33, Browns 29

Did Colin win? No

Colin Cowherd Whiffed on Ravens, Eagles and Steelers in 2020 NFL Predictions

Colin Cowherd went 40-41-2 on his 2020 Blazin’ 5 NFL picks, but also predicted Ravens to go undefeated, Eagles to win NFC East, and Steelers to struggle.

The NFL’s regular season ended but checking on Colin Cowherd‘s choices has not.

Each week, PAOC posts  Cowherd’s Blazin’ 5 picks and analysis then reviews them on Monday (or Tuesday). The host of “The Herd” and one of the personalities used to promote the Fox Bet sportsbook app posted a 40-41-2 record for the 2020 NFL season.

Before the NFL kicked off, Cowherd made a number of predictions.

How did they turn out?  We kept the receipts (the Tweets) and compared what he said to what actually happened.

Cowherd’s preseason predictions

  1. The Raiders went 8-8, a one-game improvement from 7-9 in 2019.
  2. With Tom Brady and Rob Gronkowski in Tampa Bay, the Patriots finished  7-9, their worst record since 2000.
  3. Before he went down with a season-ending knee injury in Week 11, Joe Burrow threw for 2,688 yards, 13 TDs and 5 INTs. He was on pace to break Andrew Luck’s rookie record (4,374) for most passing yards.
  4. They did not but the Ravens (11-5) are on a five-game winning streak heading into the playoffs.
  5. Dak Prescott suffered a gruesome leg injury in Week 5 and the Cowboys finished a below-average 6-10.

Colin Cowherd’s 2020 NFL Playoff Predictions

Cowherd went with the chalk for his NFL playoff predictions.

Cowherd’s preseason picks and Fox Bet odds

AFC Playoff predictions:

AFC East: Buffalo Bills (+115) favorite
AFC North: Baltimore Ravens (-188) favorite
AFC South: Indianapolis Colts (+110) favorite
AFC West: Kansas City Chiefs

To make playoffs:

Denver Broncos: No (-200), Yes (+162)
Cleveland Browns: No (-154), Yes (+130)
Los Angeles Chargers: No (-188), Yes (+150)

AFC playoffs:

AFC East winner: Buffalo Bills
AFC North winner: Pittsburgh Steelers
AFC South winner: Tennessee Titans
AFC West winner: Kansas City Chiefs

Wild Card teams:

  • Indianapolis Colts
  • Cleveland Browns
  • Baltimore Ravens

Cowherd correctly picked two of four AFC Division champs. He picked one of three Wild Card teams.

NFC playoff predictions:

NFC East: Philadelphia Eagles (+150)
NFC North: Minnesota Vikings (+160) favorite
NFC South: New Orleans Saints (-111) favorite
NFC West: San Francisco 49ers (+110) favorite

To make playoffs:

Green Bay Packers: Yes (-138), No (+115)
Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Yes (-225), No (+180)
Seattle Seahawks: Yes (-143), No (+115)

NFC East Winner: Washington
NFC North: Green Bay Packers
NFC South: New Orleans Saints
NFC West: Seattle Seahawks

NFC Wild Card:

  • Tampa Bay Buccaneers
  • Los Angeles Rams
  • Chicago Bears

Cowherd correctly picked one of four NFC Division champs. He picked one of three Wild Card teams.

Cowherd’s other NFL predictions

Ravens will go undefeated

DraftKings offered the market for six teams. The Ravens’ odds to go 16-0 were +2500; only the Kansas City Chiefs (+2200) had better odds.

According to Cowherd, there are three “great rosters” in the NFL this year: San Francisco, Kansas City and Baltimore.

“I’ve never said this in my life, [but] Baltimore is the two scariest things in football: stacked and pissed,” he said. “Lamar Jackson is the only MVP in my lifetime where people have said the following year they think he will regress. Half the league doesn’t buy into Lamar Jackson.”

The Ravens finished 11-5, and the Chiefs 14-2.

Eagles are the class of the NFC East

LOL. The Eagles finished last in a historically awful NFC East.

Patriots will struggle

Cowherd said the Patriots were going to be a “really bad football team” and win 5 or 6 games. The Patriots exceeded Cowherd’s prognostication (7-9).

Trubisky trouble

Cowherd said it was time for the Bears to admit they whiffed on quarterback Mitchell Trubisky and move on.

This looked like an early, easy layup for Cowherd when Trubisky was benched during Week 3 in favor of Nick Foles. But Trubisky got the job back when Foles was injured at the end of November. The 8-8 Bears visit New Orleans during Wild Card weekend as 10-point underdogs.

Wrong on the Steelers

Cowherd forecasted  a 7-9 record for the Steelers.

He continued disrespecting the Steelers calling them the “worst 11-0 team ever” back when they were still undefeated. Pittsburgh won the AFC North and will host the Browns in the Wild Card round as 6-point favorites Sunday night.

Did Colin Cowherd Win? An Eagles’ Loss Spoiled Cowherd’s Season, Too.

Colin Cowherd is backing mostly underdogs in his Week 17 Blazin’ 5 at Fox Bet Sportsbook, and he needs to win 3 or more to secure a winning season.

Colin Cowherd went into the last week of the regular season “hopeful to win three games or four” of his Blazin’ 5.

Instead, he went 2-3. The final game where he picked the Philadelphia Eagles (+2.5) proved to be pivotal in terms Cowherd’s overall record. The Eagles failed to cover and Cowherd’s 2020 record fell to 40-41-2.

It’s a sub .500 effort from for the host of “The Herd” and a slight step down from 2019’s record of  42-41-3.

On Sunday morning, Cowherd said he would replace the Eagles pick with the Rams (+3). However, he noted that it was “too late make change in Blazin’ 5.” The Rams covered.

Wentz to Colts in 2021?

The Eagles benched Carson Wentz during their Week 13 against the Green Bay Packers. He was replaced with rookie quarterback Jalen Hurts who has held the starting position since then.

In June 2019, the Eagles signed Wentz to a four-year, $128 million contract extension that included about $66 million guaranteed at signing. Wentz somehow landing with the Colts and head coach (and former Eagles’ OC) Frank Reich was included in Cowherd’s 2021 wish list.

Dallas Cowboys vs. New York Giants (+1.5)

Colin’s pick: Giants

Colin’s final score: Giants 24, Cowboys 23

Cowherd said:

“I’ve gone back and forth on this, I’m going to take New York. I think it’s a ‘go either way’ game but here’s why I think the value is with the Giants. The Dallas defense has improved in the last month but it’s still shaky. It’s last or next to last in points, third down percentage, rushing defense. They’ve allowed 30+ points in eight games this year, and given up 120 points off turnovers, the most in the NFL. Here’s what I like, Jason Garrett, the former coach with the Cowboys, has really done a good job with Daniel Jones. Daniel Jones hasn’t had an interception in his last five starts. Nobody knows the Cowboys personnel like the Giants’ offensive coordinator Jason Garrett. They’re at home, they can still get in. They’re both playing for the same thing. I think the value is on the Giants’ side.”

Final score: Giants 23, Cowboys 19

Did Cowherd win? Yes

New Orleans Saints vs. Carolina Panthers (+6.5)

Colin’s pick: Panthers

Colin’s final score: Saints 30, Panthers 27

Cowherd said:

“This is an easy one. It’s an in-division game. Carolina has got no quit. Young coach and young roster. The Saints’ defense has been a little creaky in the last three games, giving up 171 rushing yards per game. The Panthers are 4-1 in their last 5 games ATS, they have 8 losses by just one possession. Teddy Bridgewater played great in Week 7 against his former teammates. New Orleans is the better team, that is not the question. Six and a half is a lot of points in a rivalry game for a smart young coach, a veteran quarterback, and a young team getting better.”

Final score: Saints 33, Panthers 7

Did Cowherd win? No

Tennessee Titans (-7.5) vs. Houston Texans

Colin’s pick: Titans

Final score: Titans 36, Texans 26

“I don’t call for blowouts much, but I’m going to take the Titans -7.5 to blow out the Texans. I think the Texans have quit and there are some numbers here that lead me to believe that. Their defense allowed 370 passing yards to Brandon Allen last week. They’re on a 4-game losing streak, they’re 5-10 ATS, and their defense doesn’t take the ball away. It means Ryan Tannehill is going to be comfortable. There are three teams averaging over 30 points this year – the Packers, Chiefs, and the Titans. People forget about that because they’ve been so inconsistent and we don’t love Tannehill like we do Aaron and Mahomes. This is a powerful offense against a team who I think has just quit.”

Final score: Titans 41, Texans 38

Did Cowherd win? No

Seattle Seahawks vs. San Francisco 49ers (+6.5)

Cowherd’s pick: 49ers

Final score: Seattle 24, 49ers 23

“George Kittle is back. Here’s what the game comes down to – San Francisco is still a top 5 defense in the stuff that matters like third down percentage, passing yards allowed, and total yards per game. But their third down defense is the best in the NFL. Seattle’s offense is struggling to identify itself. Russell Wilson has 14 giveaways in the last 10 games, only Drew Lock has more. So, Seattle is the better team here, nobody disputes that. But you look at San Francisco’s defense and they’re playing well. Robert Saleh the coordinator is still trying to impress people and get a head coaching job, so that defense is playing like their hair is on fire against a Seattle offense struggling to find itself. I think it’s a really close football game.”

Final score: Seahawks 26, 49ers 23

Did Cowherd win? Yes

Washington vs. Philadelphia Eagles (+2.5)

Boom Bet: Fox Bet users can 4X their money if Jalen Hurts has 250+ pass yards and 50+ rush yards.

Cowherd’s pick: Eagles

Final score: Eagles 27, Washington 20

“I think this is an obvious one. I think they win the game outright. First of all, Doug Pederson may be coaching for his job and he’s 8-4 ATS as a home underdog. They play well as a home dog. Washington is awful when Alex Smith doesn’t play and he’s only doing individual drills this week. When Alex Smith plays Washington is 10-5. When he doesn’t they’re 6-26. We talk about the Washington defense but we forget that Philadelphia is one of only five teams in the NFL with over 45 sacks. Fletcher Cox is great, their secondary is a little banged up, but I don’t think Washington can take advantage of it. Jalen Hurts is averaging 440 yards of offense. Carson Wentz was averaging 120 yards less. They are simply more dynamic with Hurts and I think he gets better every week.”

Final score: Washington 20, Eagles 14

Did Cowherd win? No

FYI:

*Cowherd was right with Rams +3. They beat the Cardinals, 18-7.

Did Colin Cowherd Win? An Awful Week for Abbreviated Blazin’ 5

Colin Cowherd is trying to ride a hot streak, betting against the Philadelphia Eagles and Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 16 at Fox Bet.

The holidays and a ski crash can’t stop Colin Cowherd from releasing his Blazin’ 5 picks for Week 16. However, he didn’t give his picks on Friday on “The Herd.”

He released them on Twitter, and they didn’t come with an analysis of his picks. And he only gave four picks. What the heck, Colin? Why are you shorting your followers or faders at the holidays?

Maybe he should rename it the “Freezin’ Four.” His Week 16 picks went 1-3. It brings his record for the season to 38-38-2. It’s right on par with his 2019 Blazin’ 5 finish of 42-41-3.

Did Colin Cowherd Win? The Possibly Vegas-/Barstool-Bound ‘Herd’ Host Had a Solid Week

In NFL Week 14, Colin Cowherd is teasing some big news, predicting Giants and Browns upsets and the Bills over the Steelers in his Blazin’ 5 Fox Bet picks.

The possibly-Vegas bound Colin Cowherd had a 3-2 Week 14 and correctly called for a Titans blowout. He was also all-in on the Buffalo Bills and Josh Allen, which meant Fox Bet users could have tripled their money.

Cowherd is inching closer to a .500 record (33-34-2) and getting more explicit with the hints about what he has planned.

Cowherd’s next move

We all know at least one person who posts vague statuses on social media. Colin Cowherd has made a number of teasing tweets with little context.

  • “My life bout to get more interesting.”
  • “Feelin spicy tonight.”
  • “Lots of rumors about me today on the Internet. I will simply say this — I will have a major announcement very early next week. Thanks for all your support.”

Even Liv Cowherd chimed in:

What could Colin Cowherd be hinting at?

It’s a bit different when one of your Facebook friends posts about “big news coming soon,” because 99.9% of the time, it means a baby is on the way. Is Liv Cowherd getting a sibling? Doubtful. But like your FB friend who is going to post their “look what we did in quarantine” birth announcement, the answers might be in the timeline.

Colin to Barstool?

On Dec. 9, he tweeted congratulations to Erika Nardini, the CEO of Barstool.

Cowherd signed a four-year contract with Fox Sports and iHeart Radio in 2018. Without knowing the fine print of the contract, it’s hard to say what Cowherd can and can’t pursue in terms of other opportunities.

Moving to Las Vegas?

Various replies to Cowherd’s “My life bout to get more interesting” tweet speculated he is moving to Las Vegas.

The hint is on the timeline …

Then, on Dec. 11, he tweeted this, which seems to be quite an obvious sign:

Long shot guess — Liv Cowherd cohost?

Liv Cowherd rarely replies to her father’s online antics, so it was surprising to see her retweet. She has a legion of fans who are not afraid to shoot their shot in the comments. Colin and Liv Cowherd would be a much more interesting pairing than Cris Collinsworth and his son, Jac.

Tennessee Titans (-7.5) vs. Jacksonville Jaguars

Colin’s pick: Titans

Colin’s final score: Titans 36, Jaguars 23

Cowherd said:

“I know there is a hook, and bettors tend to not like the hook, but I’m going to swallow it. We have a rout on our hands. Tennessee is a very good team that was humiliated at home last week. You know my rule, bet on the following week. Their offense, though lacking what appears to be firepower, is fifth in yards per play. That’s a huge Vegas stat. The Jags D is awful. They have not held an opponent under 24 points since Week One. Huge coaching advantage. I like this as my rout of the weekend.”

Actual final score: Titans 31, Jags 10

Did Colin win? Yes

Kansas City Chiefs vs. Miami Dolphins (+7)

Colin’s pick: Dolphins

Colin’s final score: Kansas City 28, Dolphins 23

Cowherd said:

“This game feels like all Miami games — close and ugly. We talk a lot about offense, but Kansas City’s defense is clearly the second-best defense in this game. The data tells you it is slipping. The Dolphins D is first in the league in third down defense. Translation — they’ll get Patrick Mahomes off the field. Kansas City’s defense is the sixth-worst rushing defense, and in the last month it has gotten worse. The Chiefs have not won by more than 6 points in any of their last four games. You have a Miami offense that can run it, doesn’t turn it over, and an excellent defense at home. You have a Kansas City offense that sort of lacks a certain urgency. Miami is the best bet in the NFL this year (9-3 ATS).”

Actual final score: Chiefs 33, Dolphins 27

Arizona Cardinals vs. New York Giants (+2.5)

Colin’s pick: Giants

Colin’s final score: Giants 27, Cardinals 24

Cowherd said:

“This is the game you should bet the least on. The reason I’m worried is everybody likes the Giants this week. I think they have a coaching edge, are at home, are better than their record and I like their defensive line/offensive line matchup here. But I am concerned that they just came off their biggest win in several years, and the world now loves the Giants. What concerns me more for Arizona, Kyler Murray in the last three games is 0-3 with zero rush touchdowns and 4.1 rush yards per carry. He is struggling. Their defense has allowed over 30 in three of the last four games. In September and October, we all kind of fell in love with Arizona; they have not shown a second gear. The Giants are just getting better every week.”

Actual final score: Cardinals 26, Giants 7

Did Colin win? No

Pittsburgh Steelers vs. Buffalo Bills (-2)

Boom Bet: Triple your money if Josh Allen throws two+ TDs and the Bills win.

Cowherd’s pick: Bills

Colin’s final score: Bills 28, Steelers 21

Colin Cowherd said:

“I’ve been saying it all week: I’ll take Buffalo. They are a Hail Mary away from being 6-0 in their last six, and they outplayed Arizona. The Steelers are becoming so Ben-reliant it’s comical. They don’t even attempt to run the football. Josh Allen, outside of Mahomes, may be the second-best young QB in this league, and he is just getting better. The Steelers as an offense is getting worse. Buffalo, at home, has the most fourth-quarter takeaways. Their defense is situationally fantastic. This staff is unbelievable.”

Actual final score: Bills 26, Steelers 15

Did Colin win? Yes

Baltimore Ravens vs. Cleveland Browns (+2.5)

Colin’s pick: Browns

Colin’s final score: Browns 28, Ravens 26

Cowherd said:

“Like it, I love it. Teams are different. Some get hurt, some get healthy, some don’t have an identity. Cleveland has found their identity. This is the two best running offenses in the NFL. The Browns have only allowed six sacks since Week Seven. This is the best offensive line. If you go to Week Seven, the Ravens have a minus-6 sack differential, Browns +10. The Ravens have lost four of six and struggle with their offensive identity. Do they want Lamar to run? Cleveland is the better football team and are getting points. I do worry a little about their maturity, winning back-to-back games, Monday Night Football, Baker spotlight. I’m going to take Cleveland. I bet some money on it.”

Did Colin Cowherd Win? A Winning Week 13 Plus Profit from Steelers Upset

Colin Cowherd ruffled some feathers in his Week 13 NFL Blazin’ 5 picks as he went three for five and cashed in on the Steelers’ upset at Fox Bet.

“I feel great about my picks … really like some underdogs,” Colin Cowherd said before giving out his Week 13 picks.

Maybe he had some good luck pizza.

“I’m in a good mood today. I ate an entire sausage pizza last night, and I’ve never been prouder of myself. I can still feel it. I was stuffed halfway through it but nope … forge ahead,” he said on Friday’s episode of “The Herd.”

Cowherd went 3-2, his best record since Week 10.

Cowherd continues to doubt the Steelers

Colin Cowherd continues to disrespect the undefeated Pittsburgh Steelers.

Before the season, Cowherd forecasted a 16-0 record for the Baltimore Ravens and a sub-.500 7-9 for the Steelers.

On Thursday, you can count Cowherd in the “Steelers are the worst 11-0 team ever” group.

But wait … there is more hate. On Friday’s “The Herd,” Cowherd made playoff predictions based on current standings. In the AFC Divisional round, Cowherd picked the Bills to upset the top-seeded Steelers.

“I think Buffalo does several things well. I’m not sure what the Steelers do well. Now they are banged up. They are talented, but what can they lean on outside of sacks?”

After Washington beat the Pittsburgh Steelers 23-17, Cowherd gloated about betting Washington +8.5 on the Fox Bet app and went on to list the teams who are better than the Steelers, which included the Patriots and New York Giants.

“You hurt my feelings. I don’t like my feelings hurt, Steelers nation.”

Colin Cowherd defends Wentz

Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Carson Wentz is getting battered on the field. He’s been sacked a league-high 46 times. His decision-making, practice habits and whether or not it’s time to move on to rookie quarterback Jalen Hurts are other hits that keep coming. Colin Cowherd defended the maligned Wentz.

Wentz was pulled early in the second half of the Packers game with the Eagles trailing 20-3. Jalen Hurts finished the game, and on Tuesday, Pederson named Hurts the starter.

Cleveland Browns (+5.5) vs. Tennessee Titans

Boom Bet: 4X your money if Nick Chubb rushes for 100+ yards and scores a TD.

Cowherd’s pick: Cleveland

Colin’s final score: Titans 28, Browns 26

Cowherd said:

“I like Tennessee, but we are going crazy because they smoked the Colts. Here’s why I like Cleveland: The Brown’s offense is the No. 1 rushing offense in the league, and Nick Chubb has had over 100 yards in five straight games. The Titans defense will make Baker comfortable. They are the worst third down defense in the league and have the 29th most sacks. The Browns are 8-0 when Baker has passer rating over 70. This is a good matchup for Cleveland.”

Actual final score: Browns 41, Titans 35

Did Colin win? Yes

Los Angeles Rams (-3)  vs. Arizona Cardinals

Colin’s pick: Rams

Colin’s final score: Rams 33, Cardinals 27

Cowherd said:

“Everybody is freaking out because the Rams lost to the Niners. It’s a bad matchup for Arizona. The Rams’ defense is top five in everything. The Rams are 6-0 against the Cardinals in the Sean McVay era. He’s got their number. Kyler Murray has played this defense twice and has struggled. Jalen Ramsey is the magic elixir for DeAndre Hopkins. Arizona is the most-penalized team in the league. Kyler Murray is hurt; they are not running the ball with him.”

Actual final score: Rams 38, Cardinals 28

Did Colin win? Yes

New England Patriots (-1) vs. Los Angeles Chargers

Colin’s pick: Patriots

Colin’s final score: Patriots 24, Chargers 20

Cowherd said:

“Bill Belichick is 20-5 against rookie quarterbacks, 7-0 in the last five years. Only Deshaun Watson has thrown for more than 300 yards against the Patriots defense this year. The Chargers defense gives up 28 a game. New England is limited, but they are a fumble away from going to overtime in Buffalo. They beat Arizona. This has been a very interesting team two out of three weeks. This is a coaching mismatch.”

Actual final score: Patriots 45, Chargers 0

Did Colin win? Yes

Philadelphia Eagles (+8.5) vs. Green Bay Packers

Colin’s pick: Eagles

Colin’s final score: Packers 27, Eagles 23

Cowherd said:

“I know this is kinda gross, but I’m going to take Philadelphia +8.5 here. I am. Say what you want. The Eagles have been ahead or within one possession in the fourth quarter every game this year. They gave Pittsburgh and Baltimore everything. They came back and covered against Seattle. I’m not talking about winning games, I’m talking about covering the spread. They are 7-3 in their last 10 games as a dog of 6+ points. Their defense has 36 sacks; only the Steelers have more. What do we know about the Packers? They don’t like to be uncomfortable. Philadelphia gets in your face and puts pressure on your quarterback. It’s going to be an ugly game.”

Actual final score: Packers 30, Eagles 16

Did Colin win? No

Buffalo Bills vs. San Francisco 49ers (+1.5)

Colin’s pick: 49ers

Colin’s final score: 49ers 26, Bills 23

Cowherd said:

“The number has moved some. The Bills’ rushing defense is not great, and the Niners are getting healthier. You can run the football on Buffalo. Buffalo is traveling all the way west again. With Garoppolo, they threw for 230 ypg; with Nick Mullens, they throw for 270 ypg. The season is on the line for San Francisco. Buffalo is a playoff team, they have room.”

Actual final score: Bills 34, 49ers 24

Did Colin Cowherd Win? He Broke Even And Got A Seahawks Push Instead Of A Painful Bad Beat

Colin Cowherd is backing the Giants, Bills and Bears and fading the Eagles in his Week 12 Blazin’ 5 Fox Bet picks, trying to rebound from a 1-4 week.

Maybe he’ll blaze his way to five wins by the end of the season.

In Week 11 and 12, Colin Cowherd has only picked three Blazin’ 5 winners. It’s been a rough two weeks for “The Herd’s,” host who has gone 3-6-1 over that span.

It could have been worse for Cowherd. He picked the Seattle Seahawks (-6). However, by Monday night, the number was -6.5 with about 90% of the public money backing the Seahawks to cover.

A Hail Mary in the final seconds and two-point conversion by the Philadelphia Eagles broke Seattle (-6.5) backers’ hearts and resulted in a 23-17 final score.

They weren’t included in his Blazin’ 5, but Cowherd, despite swearing off of them early in the season, can’t seem to quit the Atlanta Falcons.

Los Angeles Chargers vs. Buffalo Bills (-6)

Cowherd’s pick: Bills

Colin’s final score: Bills 31, Chargers 23

Cowherd said:

“This game, I would usually take the Chargers, because they play close games. But I’m going Buffalo. What are the Chargers playing for? I know Buffalo is playing for a home game and a division title. The Bills are off a bye and have won three of four. The Bills have lost three games — Titans, Chiefs and Cardinals. The Bills defense is the issue. They are getting better.”

Actual final score: Bills 27, Chargers 17

Did Colin win? Yes

New York Giants (-5.5)  vs. Cincinnati Bengals

Colin’s pick: Giants

Colin’s final score: Giants 28, Bengals 9

Cowherd said:

“Like the Giants, I love the Giants. Coming off a bye, I don’t think the market has caught up with the Giants yet. They are 4-0 ATS since Week Seven. They’ve scored 20+ points in six straight games. Their quarterback, Daniel Jones, has back-to-back games without a turnover and back-to-back road games with a 90+ passer rating. Yes, they miss Saquon Barkley. Yes, they need a high-end receiver. But the market hasn’t caught up to them. This is a really good football team, and they’re going to win this division. They’ll face Ryan Finley; he has three career starts, and his passer rating is 62.1. Giants dominate.”

Actual final score: Giants 19, Bengals 17

Did Colin win? No

Tennessee Titans (+4)  vs. Indianapolis Colts

BOOM BET: If Derrick Henry has 100+ rush yards and scores a TD, you can 4X your money.

Colin’s pick: Titans

Colin’s final score: Titans 27, Colts 23

Cowherd said:

“I love Tennessee. The Colts are a good team, and they just beat a very popular team in Green Bay. So now their line is overvalued. Tennessee getting +4 at Indy is the play here. First of all, the Titans are a good road team. They’ve won six out of their last seven road games in the regular season. They’re also a really smartly coached team.

“The Titans have five giveaways this year. It’s the fewest in the NFL. It’s very New England with Vrabel. They don’t give you the ball. Here are two things that always travel well: good coaching and running games. Derrick Henry has seven straight road games with 100+ yards rushing. So I get a great road team, I get a great running team, I get a well-coached team, and I think the Colts are a little overvalued because they beat a wildly popular Green Bay team last week.”

Actual final score: Titans 45, Colts 26

Did Colin win? Yes

Chicago Bears (+9.5) vs. Green Bay Packers

Colin’s pick: Bears

Colin’s final score: “Packers probably win by a touchdown.”

Cowherd said:

“Listen, their offense is pathetic, so it’s not my favorite pick of the week, but here’s the thing I know about the Bears: They’ve only allowed 12 passing touchdowns all year, and only the Rams have allowed fewer. Their defense is the best in the league on third down, and their defense has not allowed a single quarterback to throw for over 300 yards this year. But here’s what worries me about Green Bay, and I do think they’ll win this game: They have the worst red zone defense in the league. Do you know that Aaron Jones has rushed for just 50 yards a game since Week Three? I don’t like what I see out of the Packers’ lines right now — offensively or defensively. I think they’re very Aaron Rodgers and Davante Adams dependent. This number for a division rivalry game is huge.”

Actual final score: Packers 41, Bears 25

Did Colin win? No

Seattle Seahawks (-6) vs. Philadelphia Eagles

Colin’s pick: Seahawks

Colin’s final score: Seahawks 32, Eagles 22

Cowherd said:

“Seattle -6 is the play here. First of all, Seattle has extra prep time playing on a Thursday, and now they don’t have to play until a Monday. Here is the story of the game, though. We all lament Seattle’s pass rush, but since Carlos Dunlap joined the team from the Bengals and Jamal Adams returned from injury since Week Nine, the Seahawks defense is tied for the NFL lead in sacks. Uh oh, they solved their dilemma. Keep an eye out on LJ Collier. First-round pick from two years ago. Played his best game of the year against Arizona.

“Seattle may have solved their big hole — pass rush. What will that also do? Solve their second biggest issue — their secondary. I think Seattle is the team with the most to grow at this point in the season. By the way, Carson Wentz is 0-4 against Seattle, playing like crap, and I think they’ll feel a lot of pressure at home in the Monday Night game to play well. Seattle under Pete Carroll has been a great East Coast road team. Take out the Buffalo loss, and they’ve won 10 straight.”

Did Colin Cowherd Win? Most Blazin’ 5 Picks Turn Out To Be Turkeys in Week 11

Colin Cowherd went a lousy 1-4 in his Week 11 Blazin’ 5 picks as his bird picks — the Eagles and Falcons — both turned out to be fowls.

After a 4-1 Week 10, Colin Cowherd warned that Week 11 was a “speed trap.”

His Blazin’ 5 picks deserve some sort of slap-on-the-wrist citation, since he only predicted one winner.

Cowherd swore off picking the Atlanta Falcons early in the season but chose them to cover (+4.5) against the New Orleans Saints. Also, he ripped the imploding Philadelphia Eagles but still saw them not only covering (+3.5) but winning outright. Picking both bird-named teams turned out to be a fowl.

Let’s hope he doesn’t burn his turkey as badly as his picks burned him.

Cowherd says Eagles are imploding

On Thursday, Colin Cowherd said “Philadelphia is imploding” amid multiple reports that the practices are “lousy.” He then ripped the Eagles for partying for a whole year after their Super Bowl win.

Listen, Colin. Boston has won a lot more titles than Philadelphia. We’ve been waiting a lifetime for it. If you ask anyone in the Philadelphia area about Super Bowl LII, they will say, “Aside from my wedding and the birth of my kids, this was the best moment of my life.”

Colin Cowherd’s 2020 Week 11 NFL picks

Cowherd’s Blazin’ 5 airs Friday on “The Herd” at 1 p.m. EST. We break down his picks for you here and follow up on Monday with his results.

If Fox Bet Sportsbook users wager on Cowherd’s “Boom Bet” and it wins, they usually quadruple their winnings.

Atlanta Falcons (+4.5) vs. New Orleans Saints

Cowherd’s pick: Falcons

Colin’s final score: Falcons 28, Saints 27

Cowherd said:

“The number is changing rapidly. Now I think the Saints with Taysom Hill are kind of experimenting at quarterback. I do not like that. The Falcons are coming off a bye. Raheem Morris isn’t only 3-1, he’s trying to win the head coaching job. In this division, he thinks he can get to a wild card spot. Atlanta since Week Six can move the ball. They have also allowed fewer than 30 ppg in five straight games. I’m going to take the Falcons with the upset win.”

Actual final score: Saints 24, Falcons 9

Did Colin win? No

Philadelphia Eagles (+3.5) vs. Cleveland Browns

Colin’s pick: Eagles

Colin’s final score: Eagles 24, Browns 20

Cowherd said:

“Like it, I love it. Philadelphia is absolutely the play here. Philadelphia’s head coach, their quarterback and their practice habits are all under question. They are getting pulverized. They lost to the Giants, but they didn’t commit a turnover, and their defense is way better than Cleveland. The Browns have scored 10 or fewer points in four games this year; only the Jets have fewer. Cleveland struggles when they face better defensive lines because Baker struggles under pressure.

*Last week, Colin correctly predicted a Giants (+3.5) upset over the Eagles.

Actual final score: Browns 22, Eagles 17

Did Colin win? No

Green Bay Packers vs. Indianapolis Colts (-2.5)

Colin’s pick: Colts

Colin’s final score: Colts 24, Packers 20

Cowherd said:

“Wise guys are split on this, but I get the Colts, who have extra prep time. The Packers defense has only created seven turnovers this year, the second fewest. Phillip Rivers is comfortable. He’s been sacked only eight times this year, the fewest in the league. The Colts defense will not make life comfortable for Aaron Rodgers. They are No. 1 in YPG allowed (290.4) and No. 1 OPP passer rating (78.9). Look at the numbers for Rivers. He’s not getting hit, he’s not getting rushed, he’s got a running game, the Packers don’t take the ball away.”

Actual final score: Colts 34, Packers 31

Did Colin win? Yes

Kansas City Chiefs (-8.5) vs. Las Vegas Raiders

Colin’s pick: Chiefs

Colin’s final score: Chiefs 36, Raiders 26

Cowherd said:

“Loved this number on Monday. It was Kansas City -6.5. I will still take it at -8.5. Andy Reid is 18-3 off a bye; it’s the best in the NFL by far. I get a team off a bye that got beat against the Raiders. The Raiders defense is below average. They have only sacked the QB 11 times this year. They have no pass rush. I get a healthy, well-coached team with extra time. There is a major COVID issue with the Raiders for the second time this year. It was my favorite play of the week on Monday.

Actual final score: Chiefs 35, Raiders 31

Did Colin win? No

Los Angeles Rams vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers (-4.5)

BOOM BET: Brady to throw for three+ TDs and Bucs win

Colin’s pick: Buccaneers

Colin’s final score: Buccaneers 28, Rams 23

Cowherd said:

“The number was better early in the week. I bet seven Rams games this year, and I’m 6-1. It’s the team I feel best about. When Jared Goff is uncomfortable, he’s not the same quarterback: 4-0 at home, only 2-3 on the road. Andrew Whitworth is on the IR. Watch out, because this Bucs defense has the second most sacks, and this Bucs defense will force Goff to throw with a backup left tackle. If the Saints lose on Sunday, the Bucs watch that game and have extra motivation on Monday to win and make up a game, as Drew Brees is out.”

Actual final score: Rams 27, Buccaneers 24

Did Colin Cowherd Win? Bad Week For Brady, Favorites and Most of Colin’s Picks

Colin Cowherd backed the favorites in his Week Nine Blazin’ 5 NFL picks, but Russell Wilson, Tom Brady, Kyler Murray and Washington all let him down.

It was a rough Week Nine for Colin Cowherd and Tom Brady.

After two winning weeks, Cowherd’s Blazin’ 5 picks went an awful 1-4. His “Boom Bet,” which would have tripled Fox Bet sportsbook app users’ money, proved to be an early bust.

Cowherd picked Brady to throw for more yards than Drew Brees and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers to win their Sunday Night matchup with the New Orleans Saints. Brady threw three picks and suffered a 38-3 drubbing, one of the worst losses of his career.

No dancing Cowherd

Last week on “The Herd,” Cowherd said he was “turned off” by Denver quarterback Drew Lock’s game-winning celebration dance after the Broncos’ 31-30 comeback win over the Los Angeles Chargers.

“We have a new cool guy,” he said on “The Herd” on Friday. “He’s too silly, too showboaty, too cool like Manziel, Baker, Cam and Jameis Winston. I was right about them. Four-for-four about to be five-for-five. I’m not into Drew Lock. Win more games, Cub Scout.”

Although he didn’t include the Broncos in his Week Nine Blazin’ 5 picks, he made a bet with Lock.

“All I’m going to ask you this week is to beat crappy Atlanta. If you beat Atlanta, crappy Atlanta … dancing is allowed for the rest of the season with no criticism.”

Co-host Joy Taylor said she thought Cowherd was going to offer to dance.

“And I will dance a little on Monday if you win,” Cowherd said about Lock.

The Falcons beat the Broncos 34-27. Cowherd doesn’t have to dance for Lock, but he did recently join Tik Tok, so it doesn’t mean he won’t pull out some moves.

Colin Cowherd 2020 Week Nine NFL picks

Cowherd’s Blazin’ 5 airs Friday on The Herd at 1 p.m. EST. We break down his picks for you here and follow up on Monday with his results.

If Fox Bet Sportsbook users wager on Cowherd’s “Boom Bet” and it wins, they usually quadruple their winnings.

“We are very very hot right now,” said Cowherd, who went 4-1 last week.

“I don’t think I’ve ever taken five favorites,” he said after giving out his Week Nine Blazin’ 5 picks. “It’s a different year. Different stuff is happening. and I really like the favorites this week. Some of them are ugly favorites. Washington is hard to stomach, but the Giants are on a short week.”

Seattle Seahawks (-3) vs. Buffalo Bills

Cowherd’s pick: Seahawks

Colin’s final score: Seahawks 33, Bills 26

Cowherd said:

“Don’t worry about the East Coast. Seattle is on a 10-game winning streak in the Eastern Time Zone. Russell Wilson is the best player on the planet. Josh Allen has not played well for a couple of weeks (four TDs, five turnovers in the last four games). The Bills defense is not good enough to beat good teams right now. They beat one good team all year, the Raiders. The Rams don’t count; they got an officiating break on one of the last calls of the game. They are the third team in NFL history to be 6-2 and have a negative point differential. Little bit of fools gold.”

Actual final score: Bills 44, Seahawks 34

Did Colin win? No

Baltimore Ravens (-2.5) vs. Indianapolis Colts

Colin’s pick: Ravens

Colin’s final score: Ravens 27, Colts 20

Cowherd said:

“The Ravens have a huge advantage at quarterback. When you have Lamar Jackson, you can roll the pocket, quarterback draws, throw it downfield. The last couple years, he’s been good on the road. Let’s not freak out. They had 460 total yards against the Steelers. He made mistakes, and he has regressed, but you can do things with Lamar Jackson you can’t do with Phillip Rivers. I have questions about the Colts; think they have a low ceiling. I don’t trust them, and their defense is very reliant on Darius Leonard.”

Actual final score: Ravens 24, Colts 10

Did Colin win? Yes

New York Giants vs. Washington (-3)

Colin’s pick: Washington

Colin’s final score: Washington 24, Giants 17

Cowherd said:

“Washington is off a bye, and the Giants are coming off a short week. You know I always love that. The Giants are coming off an emotional last play of the game loss. Washington’s defense is fantastic, and we knew it would be. Daniel Jones has 36 turnovers the last two years, the most in the NFL. I think it comes down to an ugly, choppy game. Kyle Allen won’t turn it over, and I believe Daniel Jones will.”

Actual final score: Giants 23, Washington 20

Did Colin win? No

Miami Dolphins vs. Arizona Cardinals (-4.5)

Colin’s pick: Cardinals

Colin’s final score: Cardinals 30, Dolphins 22

Cowherd said:

“Like Arizona, I love Arizona. They are off a bye. Miami, 3,000-mile flight cross-country. Tua last week was at home with two weeks to prepare and was very comfortable. Now he is going to be in a shootout. Arizona off a bye is going to put a lot of points up. Their offense is first in total yards per game, rush ypg and second in rushing TDs. The Dolphins had 154 total yards last week. I think this comes down to Arizona rested, healthier and Tua forced to play at a higher rate.”

Actual final score: Dolphins 34, Cardinals 31

Did Colin win? No

New Orleans Saints vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers (-5.5)

BOOM BET: Triple your money if Tom Brady has more passing yards than Drew Brees in a Tampa Bay win.

Colin’s pick: Buccaneers

Colin’s final score: Buccaneers 30, Saints 21

Cowherd said:

“Really like Tom Brady and the Bucs here. Why were they so flat on Monday Night Football? They were looking ahead. Brady and Brees — the difference is one of them is really good right now. The Bucs have the best point differential in the NFL and the best turnover differential since losing to the Saints in Week One. Take the first game out. The Tampa defense is number one in the NFL. They also have the ability with A.B. to throw in the slot, up the sidelines. Right now Tampa is an offense with no limitations. Brees missed practice yesterday and is banged up.”
