Betway Launches Sportsbook and Casino In a Pennsylvania Double Play

Betway online sportsbook becomes the thirteenth sports betting app in Pennsylvania through its partnership with Live! Casino Philadelphia.

A little bit of Europe has landed in Pennsylvania this summer. Following a test period earlier this week, Betway PA sportsbook launched in Pennsylvania. An online casino integrated with the sports betting app arrived simultaneously with the casino.

Betway online sportsbook and casino  entered Pennsylvania thanks to a partnership between Betway and Live! Casino Philadelphia. It is the state’s 13th sports betting app.

Betway, which is based in Malta and has been providing sports betting, casino games and poker in Europe since 2006, now has apps available in Colorado, Indiana and Pennsylvania in the U.S.

Betway Sportsbook is welcoming new users with a risk-free $250 bet

The Betway sportsbook arrives as the 13th online sportsbook in Pennsylvania. The app should provide a familiar feel to PA players since it contains a similar interface as other sportsbook apps. However, there are some unique features that provide some benefits for playing at Betway.

One of them is a partial cashout option that allows you to cash out a portion of your bet while the remainder of the wager remains eligible for the initial odds. Other options include:

  • One-Game Parlay: The single-game parlay is available for all NBA and soccer games and allows users to combine up to six markets from a single game.
  • Add to Bet: This option allows players to add new selections to an existing bet without having to place a new wager. Whenever the cash out option is available, you can add new picks to your existing bet.
  • Betway Boosts: This feature offers enhanced odds on select games and wagering options.

Betway’s growth in the United States

Betway’s arrival in Pennsylvania is the latest headline in a busy quarter for the company. Super Group, the parent company of Betway, agreed to go public through a merger with blank-check acquisition firm Sports Entertainment Acquisition Corp at a valuation of around $5 billion.

In conjunction with the announcement, Betway also said it agreed to acquire Digital Gaming Corp, which provided access to the online sports betting and gaming markets in 10 U.S. states.

Pennsylvania became the latest hub of activity this week. Because a little bit of Europe landed right here.

Sports betting in PA slipped a bit in the spring

Pennsylvania sportsbooks slumped a bit in the spring. However, the after-March Madness lull is to be expected. In May, PA sports bettors wagered $447.5 million and the sportsbooks reported $37.4 million in revenue. Handle in May pushed Pennsylvania sportsbooks over the $5 billion mark for wagers in the fiscal year with one month left.

FanDuel Sportsbook is the clear leader in the PA sports betting industry for handle and revenue. DraftKings has cemented itself as No. 2. Barstool online sportsbook remains a distant third. It will be interesting to see how Betway fares as the thirteenth sportsbook in the state. It doesn’t have the name recognition and prior DFS customer base as FanDuel and DraftKings. They also lack the fervent followers of Barstool.

Did Colin Cowherd Win? An Eagles’ Loss Spoiled Cowherd’s Season, Too.

Colin Cowherd is backing mostly underdogs in his Week 17 Blazin’ 5 at Fox Bet Sportsbook, and he needs to win 3 or more to secure a winning season.

Colin Cowherd went into the last week of the regular season “hopeful to win three games or four” of his Blazin’ 5.

Instead, he went 2-3. The final game where he picked the Philadelphia Eagles (+2.5) proved to be pivotal in terms Cowherd’s overall record. The Eagles failed to cover and Cowherd’s 2020 record fell to 40-41-2.

It’s a sub .500 effort from for the host of “The Herd” and a slight step down from 2019’s record of  42-41-3.

On Sunday morning, Cowherd said he would replace the Eagles pick with the Rams (+3). However, he noted that it was “too late make change in Blazin’ 5.” The Rams covered.

Wentz to Colts in 2021?

The Eagles benched Carson Wentz during their Week 13 against the Green Bay Packers. He was replaced with rookie quarterback Jalen Hurts who has held the starting position since then.

In June 2019, the Eagles signed Wentz to a four-year, $128 million contract extension that included about $66 million guaranteed at signing. Wentz somehow landing with the Colts and head coach (and former Eagles’ OC) Frank Reich was included in Cowherd’s 2021 wish list.

Dallas Cowboys vs. New York Giants (+1.5)

Colin’s pick: Giants

Colin’s final score: Giants 24, Cowboys 23

Cowherd said:

“I’ve gone back and forth on this, I’m going to take New York. I think it’s a ‘go either way’ game but here’s why I think the value is with the Giants. The Dallas defense has improved in the last month but it’s still shaky. It’s last or next to last in points, third down percentage, rushing defense. They’ve allowed 30+ points in eight games this year, and given up 120 points off turnovers, the most in the NFL. Here’s what I like, Jason Garrett, the former coach with the Cowboys, has really done a good job with Daniel Jones. Daniel Jones hasn’t had an interception in his last five starts. Nobody knows the Cowboys personnel like the Giants’ offensive coordinator Jason Garrett. They’re at home, they can still get in. They’re both playing for the same thing. I think the value is on the Giants’ side.”

Final score: Giants 23, Cowboys 19

Did Cowherd win? Yes

New Orleans Saints vs. Carolina Panthers (+6.5)

Colin’s pick: Panthers

Colin’s final score: Saints 30, Panthers 27

Cowherd said:

“This is an easy one. It’s an in-division game. Carolina has got no quit. Young coach and young roster. The Saints’ defense has been a little creaky in the last three games, giving up 171 rushing yards per game. The Panthers are 4-1 in their last 5 games ATS, they have 8 losses by just one possession. Teddy Bridgewater played great in Week 7 against his former teammates. New Orleans is the better team, that is not the question. Six and a half is a lot of points in a rivalry game for a smart young coach, a veteran quarterback, and a young team getting better.”

Final score: Saints 33, Panthers 7

Did Cowherd win? No

Tennessee Titans (-7.5) vs. Houston Texans

Colin’s pick: Titans

Final score: Titans 36, Texans 26

“I don’t call for blowouts much, but I’m going to take the Titans -7.5 to blow out the Texans. I think the Texans have quit and there are some numbers here that lead me to believe that. Their defense allowed 370 passing yards to Brandon Allen last week. They’re on a 4-game losing streak, they’re 5-10 ATS, and their defense doesn’t take the ball away. It means Ryan Tannehill is going to be comfortable. There are three teams averaging over 30 points this year – the Packers, Chiefs, and the Titans. People forget about that because they’ve been so inconsistent and we don’t love Tannehill like we do Aaron and Mahomes. This is a powerful offense against a team who I think has just quit.”

Final score: Titans 41, Texans 38

Did Cowherd win? No

Seattle Seahawks vs. San Francisco 49ers (+6.5)

Cowherd’s pick: 49ers

Final score: Seattle 24, 49ers 23

“George Kittle is back. Here’s what the game comes down to – San Francisco is still a top 5 defense in the stuff that matters like third down percentage, passing yards allowed, and total yards per game. But their third down defense is the best in the NFL. Seattle’s offense is struggling to identify itself. Russell Wilson has 14 giveaways in the last 10 games, only Drew Lock has more. So, Seattle is the better team here, nobody disputes that. But you look at San Francisco’s defense and they’re playing well. Robert Saleh the coordinator is still trying to impress people and get a head coaching job, so that defense is playing like their hair is on fire against a Seattle offense struggling to find itself. I think it’s a really close football game.”

Final score: Seahawks 26, 49ers 23

Did Cowherd win? Yes

Washington vs. Philadelphia Eagles (+2.5)

Boom Bet: Fox Bet users can 4X their money if Jalen Hurts has 250+ pass yards and 50+ rush yards.

Cowherd’s pick: Eagles

Final score: Eagles 27, Washington 20

“I think this is an obvious one. I think they win the game outright. First of all, Doug Pederson may be coaching for his job and he’s 8-4 ATS as a home underdog. They play well as a home dog. Washington is awful when Alex Smith doesn’t play and he’s only doing individual drills this week. When Alex Smith plays Washington is 10-5. When he doesn’t they’re 6-26. We talk about the Washington defense but we forget that Philadelphia is one of only five teams in the NFL with over 45 sacks. Fletcher Cox is great, their secondary is a little banged up, but I don’t think Washington can take advantage of it. Jalen Hurts is averaging 440 yards of offense. Carson Wentz was averaging 120 yards less. They are simply more dynamic with Hurts and I think he gets better every week.”

Final score: Washington 20, Eagles 14

Did Colin Cowherd Win? The Hook Makes This Week’s Blazin’ 5 a Hot 4-1

Colin Cowherd is taking the Dolphins and Cardinals to cover vs. the Patriots and Eagles, and the Saints over KC in his Week 15 Fox Bet Blazin’ 5.

Colin Cowherd’s week didn’t start out great when the Denver Broncos (+6) failed to cover and were stampeded 48-19 by the Buffalo Bills. But he was saved by the hook, with the Cardinals (-6.5) and Saints (+3.5) to finish 4-1. It was his best outcome for Blazin’ 5 picks since Week 10.

Two weeks left in the NFL regular season still gives Cowherd time to beat 2019’s Blazin’ 5 record (42-41-3). He is currently 37-35-2.

Cowherd’s next move

Colin Cowherd has been dropping big hints about his next move, and he is even more blunt about his thoughts about the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Before the season started, he predicted they would finish 7-9. He has had plenty to say about them, including how their 11-0 record was “hollow.”

He continued his cigar-smoking-filled diatribes against the Steelers, saying that “their time has come and gone.”

Cowherd Moving to Las Vegas?

Various replies to Cowherd’s “My life bout to get more interesting” tweet speculated that he is moving to Las Vegas.

On Dec. 11, he tweeted what seems to be quite an obvious sign:

Buffalo Bills vs. Denver Broncos (+6)

Colin’s pick: Broncos

Colin’s final score: Bills 26, Broncos 23

Cowherd said:

“I am concerned about their injuries at cornerback, but this is the perfect letdown spot for Buffalo. Josh Allen, first trip to Mile High, the Bills have had several emotional wins, second cross-country trip in the last few weeks. Denver has a really good defensive coach, and Allen can make mistakes. Denver’s defense is top 10 in everything that matters. Drew Lock, the last couple weeks, appears to have at least stabilized. The Broncos are the second best ATS.”

Actual final score: Bills 48, Broncos 19

Did Colin win?: No

New England Patriots vs. Miami Dolphins (-1.5)

Boom Bet: 4X your money if Cam Newton throws 1+ INT and Miami wins

Colin’s pick: Dolphins

Colin’s final score: Dolphins 24, Patriots 20

Cowherd said:

“What about Tua against Belichick? What about Cam Newton against this defense? The Dolphins’ defense is second in ppg allowed, first in takeaways, first in opponents’ third down percentage. Brian Flores is the perfect coach for Tua in this game because young quarterbacks struggle with Belichick. Tua doesn’t make mistakes, nine TDs and one pick this year. I get a better team, better defense, a great young coach, a team playing for more.”

Actual final score: Dolphins 22, Patriots 12

Did Colin win?: Yes

Seattle Seahawks vs. Washington (+6.5)

Colin’s pick: Washington

Colin’s final score: Seahawks 21, Washington 20

Cowherd said:

“The line has moved a bit here. The Seahawks have covered the spread three times in the last nine games. Why? They are overvalued. Their offensive line is the weak point, and the defensive line for Washington is the strength. I think this game gets really ugly. I think this game is also about Ron Rivera. Early in the year, he was taking cancer treatments. He is out of that, he’s more robust and his team is on a four-game winning streak, and during that time, they are number one in point differential. They also have four players with at least five sacks. It’s not just Chase Young. This makes for a long scoring, ugly game.”

Actual final score: Seahawks 20, Washington 15

Did Colin win?: Yes

Philadelphia Eagles vs. Arizona Cardinals (-6.5)

Cowherd’s pick: Cardinals

Colin’s final score: Cardinals 28, Eagles 20

Colin Cowherd said:

“This is my least favorite pick, so bet less. If you look at what Philadelphia did last week, the Saints were guessing. They had no idea what they were going to get. Arizona knows exactly what they are going to get with Jalen Hurts because they see it every day at practice. They are used to seeing a highly athletic quarterback. Philadelphia has allowed the most rush yards to QBs this season (364). Their defense has four picks all year. Translation: Kyler Murray will be comfortable. Vegas likes Philadelphia. Arizona is becoming easy to predict. When Kyler is healthy and can run … they beat the Bills … they are good … they dominated the Giants. Kyler is healthy. He’s going to be moving. “

Actual final score: Cardinals 33, Eagles 26

Did Colin win?: Yes

Kansas City Chiefs vs. New Orleans Saints (+3.5)

Colin’s pick: Saints

Colin’s final score: Saints 28, Chiefs 27

Cowherd said:

“Like it, I love it. Saints are my bet of the week. The line is going to be all over the place. I bet it Monday; I got the Saints at 4. Brees is the starter and the number will probably come crashing down and you won’t get the number I got. The Chiefs’ red zone defense and red zone offense is not good. The Chiefs are allowing touchdowns, not field goals, on defense. They are scoring field goals, not touchdowns, on offense. This Saints defense is the story of this team. I like the Saints, who are still fighting for a No.1 seed.”

Actual final score: Chiefs 32, Saints 29

Did Colin win?: Yes
