Did Colin Cowherd Win? He Ended 2019 With A Dud Week But A 50-50 Year

Colin Cowherd’s NFL picks for FOX Bet started out red hot, but the back half of the season was lackuster, including a 0-5 Week 17.

It was a very Colin Cowherd Christmas. With his spirits soaring from a 4-1 Week 16, Cowherd headed into the holiday happy.

His timeline was filled with Christmas cheer from train sets, puppies, courtside seats to the Utah Jazz, and a family snowmobiling excursion.

So excuse Cowherd if he didn’t have time to record his Blazin’ 5 segment and only post his picks. But you might have a hard time defending his winless Week 17. Cowherd missed on all five games. Bah humbug.

Hey, the time between Christmas and New Years is a confusing, muddled space. Maybe Cowherd knew even if he missed on all the games he would still finish the season one game above .500.

A week after calling Eagles quarterback Carson Wentz the “closest thing to Patrick Mahomes,” Cowherd continued to heap on the praise:

He obviously doesn’t think Wentz is worth betting his money on though. It’s the second straight week he’s bet against the Eagles…and has lost.

However, Cowherd did bring back his Marquee 3 since its moniker is made for the College Football Playoff, or at least one game was. Cowherd picked Clemson (-2) correctly but badly whiffed on Oklahoma (+14)

Every week we track Cowherd’s picks so you know how he is faring before you follow his bets at FOX Bet or on your PA sports betting apps.

Cowherd’s college football bowl week picks

#3 Clemson (-2) vs. #2 Ohio State

Colin’s pick: Clemson

Colin’s final score: Clemson 36, Ohio State 30

Cowherd said: “I like Clemson to win by a touchdown. I think we are undervaluing Clemson. We look at their conference and say they haven’t played anybody and that is a huge benefit. They are healthy. They’ve got a ton of depth. I believe when you don’t know who is going to win you go with the coaching staff in college and I think Clemson has the best coaching staff by a wide margin. Trevor Lawrence, since Week 9, good luck. Ohio State’s defense gets the credit, I could argue Clemson’s is actually better. First in the country in multiple categories. Trevor Lawrence since Week 9 has been unstoppable. I don’t think the ACC is great but who in the Big 10 is amazing outside of Ohio State? Right now Ohio State’s defense is good but in the last four games they are allowing 21 ppg. Clemson, NFL running back, NFL quarterback, NFL offensive line, NFL tight end, NFL receivers.”

Actual final score: Clemson 29, Ohio State 23

Did Colin win?: Yes

#1 LSU  vs. #4 oklahoma (+14)

Colin’s pick: Oklahoma

Colin’s final score: LSU 41, Oklahoma 30

Cowherd said: “Oklahoma is going to hear they are going to get crushed. Do you know the number one seed has never won the College Football Playoff? Oklahoma is hearing how irrelevant they are. Jalen Hurts is the only quarterback with thirty passing touchdowns and fifteen rushing touchdowns. They are going to move the ball. LSU’s defense is good but was gashed by lesser offenses. Oklahoma’s defense was pathetic last year, it was first in the Big 12 this year. We’ve seen Oklahoma in these big games against SEC teams. They gave Georgia trouble, they beat Alabama years ago. Oklahoma is big boy football. I think this game is going to feel very very close. And I do think LSU escapes.”

Actual final score: LSU 63, Oklahoma 28

Did Colin win?: No

#22 USC vs #16 iowa (-2)

Colin’s pick: Iowa

Colin’s final score: Iowa 28, USC 24

Cowherd said: “I think this is a coaching mismatch of otherwise two very even teams. The Trojans have better perimeter players. Iowa’s got better line play including one of my favorite offensive and defensive lineman. USC football, second-most turnovers in the PAC-12 and lots of penalties. That has been a hallmark of Clay Helton football. The last two years, bowl record .500, out of conference about .500. The Big 10 is 6-1 against the PAC-12 in bowl games the last two years. Iowa’s offensive line is much better than USC’s offensive line. The pass rush from Iowa will be a problem for USC’s freshman quarterback.”

Actual final score: Iowa 49, USC 24

Did Colin win?: Yes

Bowl week record:2-1

Season college football overall record: 18-27

Marquee 3 Super Boost record (requires winning all three games): 1-14

Colin Cowherd’s Week 17 NFL picks

Miami Dolphin vs. New England Patriots (-16.5)

Colin’s pick: Patriots

Final score: Dolphins 27, Patriots 24

Did Colin win?: No

San Diego Chargers (+8.5) vs. Kansas City Chiefs

Colin’s pick: Chargers

Actual final score: Chiefs 31, Chargers 21

Did Colin win?: No

Cleveland Browns (-3) vs. Cincinnati Bengals

Colin’s pick: Browns

Actual final score: Bengals 33, Browns 23

Did Colin win?: No

san Francisco 49ers vs. Seattle Seahawks (+3.5)

Colin’s pick: Seahawks

Actual final score: 49ers 26, Seahawks 21

Did Colin win?: No

New York Giants (+4) vs. Philadelphia Eagles

Colin’s pick: Giants

Actual final score: Eagles 35, Giants 17

Did Colin win?: No

Blazin’ 5 Week 17 record: 0-5

Blazin’ 5 overall record: 42-41-3

Blazin’ 5 record (requires winning three out of five games): 9-8

Did Colin Cowherd Win? Yes, Despite Whiffing on Wentz

Colin Cowherd posted an impressive 4-1 record in his Blazin’ 5 NFL week 16 picks, but could have gone undefeated if he went with Wentz.

Fueled by a 4-1 Week 16, Colin Cowherd enters the holiday on a high note.

Sports betters who followed his Blazin’ 5 selections are also singing his praises since they double their money on the FOX Bet app when three of his five picks cover.

While his picks were good for the pocketbook, they went against the two PA NFL teams. Cowherd picked the Jets (+3) to cover versus the Steelers, a win as the Jets won outright. His only wrong pick of the week was the Cowboys (-2) against the Eagles.

It’s a bit curious Cowherd picked the Cowboys, though. He talked up Carson Wentz throughout the week calling him the “closest thing to Patrick Mahomes” and, well, let’s call it praising his ability to work with practice squad graduates.

A hotter-than-chestnuts on an open fire 4-1 performance puts Cowherd’s Blazin’ 5 at 9-7 for the season with an overall record of 42-36-3. So, even if he gets all of his picks wrong next week, he ends the regular season above .500.

Colin Cowherd’s Week 16 NFL picks

Baltimore Ravens (-9) vs. Cleveland Browns

Colin’s pick: Baltimore

Colin’s final score: Ravens 33, Browns 20

Cowherd said: “We talk a lot about Baltimore’s offense but their defense has been absolutely sensational since Marcus Peters arrived. They’re getting a pass rush during their ten-game winning streak. They’re first, second or third in virtually everything including quarterback hits per game. Baker Mayfield has looked very gun shy in the last six weeks. He’s tired of getting hit. Cleveland is a team that allows you to run the football. Teams average 135 yards on the ground. The last time they played they didn’t have Marcus Peters. Nick Chubb was unbelievable. Moral of the story, September is not December.”

Actual final score: Ravens 31, Browns 15

Did Colin win?: Yes

Cincinnati Bengals vs. Miami Dolphins (+1)

Colin’s pick: Miami

Colin’s final score: Dolphins 24, Bengals 20

Cowherd said: “Really like Miami here. It’s close to a pick ’em. Miami is at home on holiday weekend. I don’t think Cincinnati is that well-coached. I think Miami is not great but well-coached. After their disastrous start Brian Flores comes in, new team, he’s trying to figure out his personnel. The last seven games they are 3-4. In their last ten they are 7-3 ATS. Since Week 9, Ryan Fitzpatrick has twice as many touchdown passes as interceptions, he’s completing about 63% of his throws. He’s a great transition quarterback. He’s not a franchise guy but he’s a gamer and he went to Harvard. It’s one of the rare times I love what is considered a bad football team.”

Actual final score: Dolphins 38, Bengals 35

Did Colin win?: Yes

Pittsburgh Steelers vs. New York Jets (+3)

Colin’s pick: Jets

Colin’s final score: Jets 26, Steelers 23

Cowherd said: “Everyone sold their stock after Sam Darnold’s ‘ghost’ comments against New England. Even in losses Darnold’s playing very very well. Since Week 9, he has a 62% completion percentage, 12 TDS, 4 picks, 95 passer rating, two rushing touchdowns. That’s with the worst offensive line in football. He’s not the issue. I love the Steelers front seven but Devlin Hodges, in the four games he’s played, he’s got more interceptions than touchdowns. The Jets have shown at home, remember the Dallas game, where they are pretty impressive. I think Pittsburgh’s been exposed as a totally limited offense.”

Actual final score: Jets 16, Steelers 10

Did Colin win?: Yes

Dallas Cowboys (-2) vs. Philadelphia Eagles

Colin’s pick: Cowboys

Colin’s final score: “Dallas by a touchdown”

Cowherd said: “Carson Wentz is having a much better year than everybody says but here’s the thing about Philadelphia, they can’t beat you over the top. The last couple of weeks against average teams, their defense can’t take the ball away. This is what worries me. If you just let Dak do his little comeback patterns and Zeke runs the ball, Dallas can dominate time of possession. The last couple of weeks, Philadelphia defensively has been awful. Dallas is 5-0 this year when they rush for over 172 yards and Zeke has owned the Eagles defensive front. I love Fletcher Cox but he hasn’t had a great year by Fletcher Cox standards. The Cowboys offensive line is healthy. The Dallas staff gets fired if they don’t win. There is unbelievable urgency. I think Dak’s injury forces Dallas to not get cute and run the football.”

Actual final score: Eagles 17, Cowboys 9

Did Colin win?: No

Kansas City Chiefs (-6) vs. Chicago Bears

Colin’s pick: Chiefs

Colin’s final score: Chiefs 30, Bears, 21

Cowherd said: “I’ll easily swallow the points here. What is Chicago playing for? Kansas City has sneakily become the second hottest team in the league after Baltimore. The last four games they are 4-0 and 4-0 ATS. Since their bye week their defense has been really good. Since Week 12, their defense is number one in fewest points allowed and fifth in fewest yards allowed. In the Bears last ten games they are 2-8 ATS. When they do win it’s ugly. They game has to be played a certain way for Chicago to win. I think Andy Reid privately is thinking ‘we got healthy at the right time, we got hot at the right time.’ This is a team that went into New England and won a football game. I don’t think they played flawless football.”

Actual final score: Chiefs 26, Bears 3

Did Colin win?: Yes

Blazin’ 5 Week 16 record: 4-1

Blazin’ 5 overall record: 42-36-3

Blazin’ 5 record (requires winning three out of five games): 9-7

Did Colin Cowherd Win? The “Ravens Of Football Pickers” Fell Short

After a winning week, Colin Cowherd was back to a so-so card of football picks after backing the Rams and the Bears in Week 14.

Riding high off his 4-1 Week 14, Colin Cowherd leveled up his ego.

Before he doled out his Blazin 5′ picks for Week 15, he proclaimed himself the “Ravens of football pickers.” Then, he added an extra pick.

Cowherd’s Blazin 5′ record, which requires three picks to cover for PA sports bettors to double their money when they use the FOX Bet app, was 8-6. The Baltimore Ravens are 12-2.

“I’ve never done this. I feel this good about the picks. If I go 0-6 it just taints me for the season. But I’m the Ravens of football pickers. I’m going all in! I am seeing what everyone else is not.”

Cowherd gives his Blazin 5′ picks on Friday but on Sunday he sent this tweet which omitted a pick, the Rams (-1).

His extra pick didn’t matter. Cowherd finished Week 15 with a 2-3-1 record and needed a Bills cover to avoid a pitiful one-win performance.

Colin Cowherd’s Week 15 NFL picks

Seattle Seahawks (-6) vs. carolina panthers

Colin’s pick: Seahawks

Colin’s final score: Seahawks 28, Panthers 20

Cowherd said: “Ron Rivera’s firing did not go over well in the locker room. Don’t worry about the road. Russell Wilson has been a better road quarterback than a home quarterback. He’s completing 70% of his throws, 103 passer rating. Here’s the thing that will scare you if you’re a Carolina fan, Seattle’s defense has 29 takeaways, third-best in the NFL. Carolina gives it away almost more than anyone else. Turnovers will be a factor.”

Actual final score: Seahawks 30, Panthers 24

Did Colin win?: It was a push

Chicago Bears (+4.5) vs. Green Bay Packers

Colin’s pick: Bears

Colin’s final score: Packers 23, Bears 20

Cowherd said: “Green Bay’s been outgained this year. They get outgained by, like, thirty yards a game. Mitch Trubisky has got limitations but since Week 10, Matt Nagy and the staff have figured out what works and what doesn’t. The Bear’s defense, the last couple of years against Green Bay, has only given up 17 ppg against Aaron Rodgers. I like the coach for the Bears, the defense for the Bears. I’m going to take Green Bay at Lambeau to win on a late field goal, but 4.5. bet the number here, it’s too much to give Chicago.”

Actual final score: Packers 21, Bears 13

Did Colin win?: No

Houston Texans (+3.5) vs. Tennessee Titans

Colin’s pick: Texans

Colin’s final score: Texans 27, Titans 26

Cowherd said: “I have a rule, one team every week is humiliated. As long as that team has a good quarterback, take them the following week because most fans bail on them. The Texans are fun. Are the inconsistent? Oh, God yes. Are they bad? Oh, no. Following a loss this year they are 4-0 and average 28 ppg. The Texans offense is still ninth ranked in the NFL. They are all over the map but this is a must win for them. I like Tennessee. We’re going nuts on Ryan Tannehill.”

Actual final score: Texans 24, Titans 23

Did Colin win?: Yes

Jacksonville Jaguars vs. Oakland Raiders (-6.5)

Colin’s pick: Raiders

Colin’s final score: Raiders 33, Jaguars 23

Cowherd said: “I think the Jags have quit on their coach. The minute they traded Jalen Ramsey, it did not play well in the locker room. Not only is Jacksonville losing, they are losing against the spread. They aren’t tackling well. On the road, they are atrocious. This is the last game for the Raiders in Oakland. This is a team that’s going to celebrate. This is a very big game, a celebration of Oakland and the Raiders. Oakland is going to come out with their hair on fire and play a great game.”

Actual final score: Jaguars 20, Raiders 16

Did Colin win?: No

los Angeles Rams (-1) vs. Dallas Cowboys

Colin’s pick: Rams

Colin’s final score: Rams 28, Cowboys 23

Cowherd said: “I like the Rams for basically one reason. When veteran defensive coordinators face young noobies, it’s been a mismatch. The best teams aren’t always beating Dallas. The most veteran defensive coordinators have owned Kellen Moore. The Rams are a very good road team, 5-1. The Cowboys lost four of five. The offense for the Rams has turned it around. Since Jalen Ramsey arrived in Week 7, the Rams lead the NFL in sacks and are third in total yards.”

Actual final score: Cowboys 44, Rams 21

Did Colin win?: No

Buffalo Bills (+2) vs. Pittsburgh Steelers

Colin’s pick: Bills

Colin’s final score: Bills 24, Steelers 13

Cowherd said: “These teams are very similar, excellent coaching staffs, most of the talent on defense. But I get a significantly better quarterback in Buffalo and I get points. This game means a lot for both. This “Duck” guy for Pittsburgh is an adorable story. He won the Alabama state duck calling contest. But Pittsburgh’s offense since Week 10 is atrocious. Buffalo’s defense has held their opponents to 21 points or less in 11 of 13 games, that includes the Patriots and the Ravens. This defense is exceptional for Buffalo. The offense for Pittsburgh is a mess.”

Actual final score: Bills 17, Steelers 10

Did Colin win?: Yes

Blazin’ 5 Week 15 record: 2-3-1

Blazin’ 5 overall record: 38-35-3

Blazin’ 5 record (requires winning three out of five games): 8-7

Ratings On The Rise For The Surging Sixers And NBC Sports Betting Content

Thanks to a hot start to the season, more and more people are watching the 76ers and the sports-betting content on NBC surrounding the team.

NBC Sports Philadelphia has jacked up its 76ers broadcast lineup with a massive dose of sports betting info for the 2019-20 season.

Of course, it may not be the betting info driving viewership to new highs with the team off to a hot start, along with no defeats at home. However, it could play a part.

NBC having its best Sixers season

NBC Sports Philly is currently on track to have its highest-rated season in recent memory for Sixers broadcasts, according to spokeswoman Maureen Quilter of NBC Universal.

Viewership of the games is up 38% over last season at the same point, she said.

And through 20 games, 173,000 unique devices have streamed the 2019-20 Philadelphia 76ers, which is on-pace to be the most-streamed season in terms of uniques ever for the 76ers, she added.

Pre- and post-game shows are also up, according to viewer data.

Viewer engagement is key

“For NBC Sports Philly, it is a really exciting time for us to be the first in this space, and to provide fans another opportunity to engage with the Sixers and us in a new and way,” she said.

But Quilter added it is not possible to say if the betting info is a primary reason for an increase in viewers,  though they have integrated betting data into all aspects of their coverage.

“The idea behind our Sixers NBC Sports BetCast is to improve the engagement level, to keep fans interested throughout. That being said, it’s hard to map a direct correlation to Nielsen averages at this point.”

But there is no denying bettering engagement seems to be working for NBC Sports Philly, she added:

We’re always looking for new ways to increase viewer engagement so the ability to have this alternative broadcast for Sixers games on NBC Sports Philadelphia presents a perfect opportunity for us to do so.  We also incorporated sports betting information into our pre and postgame shows, we air a simulcast of The Daily Line radio program on NBC Sports Philadelphia+, and air a Betting Break weekdays in the Mike Missanelli Show

Sports betting has gone mainstream

NBC has pumped up its betting content just as the Sixers have also embraced sports wagering.

The hoop team recently signed deals with FOX Bet, Parx Casino, and Caesars Entertainment/Harrah’s Philadelphia.

Did Colin Cowherd Win? He Didn’t Even Bother With College Football This Week

Things are getting so dire for Colin Cowherd’s picks these days he stopped doing his Marquee 3 and only notched one NFL betting win in Week 13.

What makes a winning week of picks?

For Colin Cowherd’s Blazin’5 to give sports bettors in Pennsylvania using the FOX Bet Sportsbook  an odds boost, three of his five picks need to cover.

It seems Cowherd isn’t quite so certain. Two weeks ago he considered a push a win (it isn’t). Then, before announcing his Week 13 picks he said that he’s had nine winning weeks out of 12.

Actually, Cowherd’s had seven winning weeks, not nine.

Where does his fuzzy math come from? Our guess is he’s tacking on these weeks as w’s:

Week 10: 2-3

Week 11: 2-2-1

Perhaps he thinks if more than one of his picks covered the spread he actually “won” which are not the rules of Blazin’ 5.

Cowherd will have a hard time calling his Week 14 picks winners. He went 1-4.

After a hot start to the season, Blazin 5 has fizzled. Cowherd’s only produced a three-win effort two times during the past eight weeks.

Cowherd did not even make his college football Marquee 3 picks this week. There does not appear to be an explanation of why. Maybe due to the holiday? Or he finally put a merciful end to his 0-13 season. If he did decide to drop out, he finishes with an overall record of 13-26

Every week we track Cowherd’s picks so you know how he is faring before you follow his bets at FOX Bet or on your PA sports betting apps.

Colin Cowherd’s Week 13 NFL picks

“I tend to like underdogs. Give me a quarterback, Kyler Murray and points, Derek Carr and points and I like that,” said Cowherd who picked three underdogs.

Both Murray’s Cardinals and Carr’s Raiders lost.

San Francisco 49ers vs. Baltimore Ravens(-5.5)

Colin’s pick: Baltimore

Colin’s final score:  Ravens  31, 49ers 24

Cowherd said: “In their last three games against good teams, Lamar Jackson…the league is playing catch-up to this team offensively. The league didn’t have an offseason to figure him out. They are 5-0 ATS. Forget winning, they are blowing good teams out. San Francisco, as good as they are have struggled against mobile quarterbacks. Against the run, the Niners since Week 8 are 27th. I think this could get ugly. I think San Francisco will keep it close but the score will be deceiving. I think Baltimore controls most of this game.”

Actual final score: Ravens  20, 49ers 17

Did Colin win?:  No

Washington Redskins vs. Carolina Panthers (-9.5)

Colin’s pick: Panthers

Colin’s final score: Panthers 33, Redskins 20

Cowherd said: “I hate laying big numbers but I’m going to take Carolina. Veteran head coach, a lot of good players and they still have an outside shot at a Wild Card. Washington is playing for nothing. This is the worst offense I think I’ve seen in five years. They won last week and Dwayne Haskins completed 44% of his throws. They are a mess offensively. They allow a ton of sacks and the Panthers are second in the league in sacks. Washington is in big trouble.”

Actual final score: Redskins 29, Panthers 21

Did Colin win?: No

Philadelphia Eagles vs. Miami Dolphins (+9.5)

Colin’s pick: Dolphins

Colin’s final score: Eagles 27, Dolphins 23

Cowherd said: “I really like the Miami story. They are doing the best job tanking you can do. They play very hard. Even against Cleveland last week they got down early and played their butts off. I’m going to take them +9.5 against a traveling Philadelphia team. They can’t win at home so they aren’t going to win on the road convincingly. Philadelphia is a broken team decimated by injuries. Since Week 7 they are near the bottom of everything offensively. They are giving the ball away. They are not only struggling, they are sloppy. The penalties, twenty giveaways this year. ATS Miami is 5-2. They are back home, healthy and got a ton of fight. ”

Actual final score: Dolphins 37, Eagles 31

Did Colin win?: Yes

Los Angeles rams vs. Arizona Cardinals (+3)

Colin’s pick: Cardinals

Colin’s final score: Cardinals 27, Rams 26

Cowherd said: “Arizona off a bye at home getting points. I think they are going to win. Arizona had fairly low expectations this year. Rookie quarterback and rookie head coach. Their locker room is very positive right now. Arizona is exceeding expectations. The Rams thought Super Bowl but as of Monday night, they are done with that. That locker room is not good. After starting 3-0 the Rams are a 3-5 football team. Kyler Murray is getting better every single week. Since Week 5, he has ten touchdowns, one pick, and 100 passer rating. Their offensive line, which I hated coming into the season is actually significantly better than the Rams offensive line which I liked coming into the season”

Actual final score: Rams 34, Cardinals 7

Did Colin win?: No

Oakland Raiders (+9.5) vs. Kansas City Chiefs

Colin’s pick: Raiders

Colin’s final score: Chiefs 30, Raiders 27

Cowherd said: “You know one of my rules, good teams with good players playing for something after they get destroyed…it’s my bounce-back theory. Oakland still has a chance to make the playoffs, a very good chance. They were humiliated against the Jets. They are going to button that puppy up and give Kansas City everything they can handle. The Chiefs defense has struggled in the last few weeks and I get one of the better offensive lines. Give Gruden credit, they run the football and their offensive line is better. Kansas City is going to win this game. It’s at home. But I don’t trust that Kansas City defense. I think the Raiders button it up and go back to playing with the spirit and efficiency they have for most of the year.”

Actual final score: Chiefs 40, Raiders 9

Did Colin win?: No

Blazin’ 5 Week 13 record: 1-4

Blazin’ 5 overall record: 32-31-2

Blazin’ 5 record (requires winning three out of five games): 7-6

Did Colin Cowherd Win? The Cowboys Helped Snap A Four-Week Losing Streak

Colin Cowherd is in quite the slump, but is hoping rivalry games between Penn St and Ohio St and USC and UCLA can right the ship.

Colin Cowherd’s Blazin’ 5 got the winning fires burning again. He snapped a four-week losing streak thanks to a Dallas Cowboys (+6.5) cover. However, they failed to deliver the straight-up win he predicted.

The picks he “loved” were a mixed bag. Cowherd hit with the Giants (+6) but badly whiffed with the Raiders (-3).

Cowherd’s college football Marquee 3 is running out of time to make it to the win column. He came one pick short of giving sports bettors in PA the chance to cash at +800 instead of +600 when they use FOX Bet. But it’s worth noting over the past two weeks Cowherd is having the his best run (4-2) of college picks.

Every week we track Cowherd’s picks so you know how he is faring before you follow his bets at FOX Bet or on your PA sports betting apps.

Cowherd’s college football Week 13 picks

#8 Penn State (+19) vs. #2 Ohio State

Colin’s pick: Penn State

Colin’s final score: Ohio State 33, Penn State 23

Cowherd said: “The last three games of this series have been decided by one point, one point, and three points. Penn State can move the football. They rank top 15 in scoring offense and scoring defense. So does Ohio State and Ohio State is better. But I’m getting nineteen points. Penn State is 2-1 against ranked teams this year. Ohio State goes to Michigan next week. They struggle every year before the Michigan game. Penn State’s got a good coach, weapons on the outside. Nineteen is huge number. ”

Actual final score: Ohio State 28, Penn State 17

Did Colin win?: Yes

#13 Michigan vs. Indiana (+9.5)

Colin’s pick: Indiana

Colin’s final score: Michigan 27, Indiana 23

Cowherd said: “I wouldn’t be shocked if Indiana won the game. I’m betting a number. Michigan, before they play Ohio State the last twelve years, has been 4-8 against the spread. Indiana’s got a real offense. Points per game, total yards and yards per play, Indiana is better in all three. They’ve scored 27 or more in six straight games. If you just look at numbers, Indiana can go toe-to-toe offensively and score. This to them is their bowl game. I think Michigan wins it but has to come from behind to do it.”

Actual final score: Michigan 39, Indiana 14

Did Colin win?: No

UCLA vs #23 USC (-14)

Colin’s pick: USC

Colin’s final score: USC 36, UCLA 16

Cowherd said: “The Trojans have dominated this series at the Coliseum winning nine of ten and eight by double digits. UCLA is 3-17 in their last twenty road games. 0-3 against teams currently ranked. UCLA is a one-dimensional offense who can’t throw the ball. USC can still win the PAC-12 South. It’s their last game potentially under Clay Helton. Will they play to fight for his job? When they don’t lose the turnover battle at home, USC wins their games and they win them big.”

Actual final score: USC 52, UCLA 35

Did Colin win?: Yes

Week 13 college football record: 2-1

Season college football overall record: 13-26

Marquee 3 Super Boost record (requires winning all three games): 0-13

Colin Cowherd’s Week 12 NFL picks

Before his Week 12 Blazin 5 selections he did said, “Love my picks. Feel good about it. Over fifty percent for the year. 2-2-1 last week.”

Three of his picks need to cover for sports bettors in Pennsylvania using the FOX Bet Sportsbook to take advantage of FOX Bet’s odds boost on the wagers.

Denver Broncos (+3.5) vs. Buffalo Bills

Colin’s pick: Broncos

Colin’s final score:  Broncos 23, Bills 21

Cowherd said: “This is going be a low scoring game and +3.5 is a lot of points. Denver got off to a bad start and we all sold our stock. Denver is a pretty good football team. Nineteen sacks is tied for third in the NFL since Week 6. Look at the overall defensive numbers, top seven in the stuff that matters. Vic Fangio knows what he is doing. Since they went 0-4, they are 3-3 and have the number two red-zone defense meaning they are going to force you into field goals. It’s one of my favorite picks.”

*Last week, Cowherd picked the Broncos (+10.5) to cover against Minnesota. It was one of his two wins.

Actual final score: Bills 20, Broncos 3

Did Colin win?:  No

New York Giants (+6) vs. Chicago Bears

Colin’s pick: Giants

Colin’s final score: Giants 27, Bears 24

Cowherd said: “Like the Giants, I love the Giants. If you noticed Daniel Jones in the last month since Week 8, 9 TDs, 1 INT, 107 QB rating. We are not paying attention because they are a bad team. Daniel Jones is playing pretty good football right now. Giants are coming off a bye. Meanwhile, the Bears looked like a broken football team, certainly a broken offense. Anyone notice Khalil Mack? I think he said he’s out for the year, ‘I’m not giving you my best.’ I think it’s a broken locker room. The Giants off a bye facing the worst offense in the league. Upset.”

Actual final score: Bills 19, Giants 14

Did Colin win?: Yes

Oakland Raiders (-3) vs. New York jets

Colin’s pick: Raiders

Colin’s final score: Raiders 28, Jets 23

Cowherd said: “Love the Raiders in this game. Big offensive line advantage for the Raiders. Jets have one of the worst, Sam Darnold is always running for his life. The Raiders have had the toughest road schedule in the NFL and they’ve won five of seven on the road. They are averaging more yards per play than any offense on the road. Yards per play is huge Vegas stat. The sharks and the wise guys love it. Raiders are also tied second in the NFL for sacks allowed. They don’t let you get to Derek Carr. That’s why his efficiency numbers are so high. They have three capable running backs. I think this is a time of possession game and the Jets tend to have more turnovers.”

Actual final score: Jets 34, Raiders 3

Did Colin win?: No

*Be careful when Cowherd uses the “l” word (love or lock). Since Week 7, his “like it, love it/lock pick” record is 1-5-1.

Seattle Seahawks (+1.5) vs. Philadelphia eagles

Colin’s pick: Seahawks

Colin’s final score: Seahawks 26, Eagles 23

Cowherd said: “Seattle is off a bye. The last six times they have been off a bye, 5-1. That’s the best record in the NFL. Hall of Fame coach gets extra days to prepare. Philadelphia lost DeSean Jackson. They have no perimeter speed. Seattle went and  got Josh Gordon and Jadeveon Clowney, they are a different team than the team that lost to Baltimore. They’ve got a deep threat and an elite guy in space on the outside. Russell Wilson MVP. Number one in everything that matters. Seattle’s also rushed for 100+ yards in all but one of their games. When you go on the road you want to take the crowd out of it.”

Actual final score: Seahawks 17, Eagles 9

Did Colin win?: Yes

Dallas Cowboys (+6.5) vs. New England patriots

Colin’s pick: Cowboys

Colin’s final score: Cowboys 32, Patriots 23

Cowherd said: “Mohamed Sanu is out. It’s Julian Edelman, 42-year-old Tom Brady and cross your fingers. Even if New England wins this isn’t going to be a shootout game. It’s going to be low scoring. The Patriots defense has come back to earth since Week 8 because they are playing quarterbacks who can actually play. They are 31st in rushing yards allowed, 11th in total yards allowed and 12th in points-per-game. The Cowboys are averaging 32 points since Week 9, top 3 in the NFL. Quarterbacks that can move around give Belichick a little trouble.”

Actual final score: Patriots 13, Cowboys 9

Did Colin win?: Yes

Blazin’ 5 Week 12 record: 3-2

Blazin’ 5 overall record: 31-27-2

Blazin’ 5 record (requires winning three out of five games): 7-5

Did Colin Cowherd Win? His Blazin’ 5 Losing Streak Continues Heading Into NFL Week 12

Colin Cowherd’s Blazin’ Five has had a climate change that PA sports bettors can relate to. Find out his picks for NFL Week 11 and college football.

“Did Colin Cowherd win?”

Apparently he doesn’t even know.

Cowherd touted the Cards at +10. They lost 36-26 to the 49ers. In the betting world that’s known as a push.

It proved costly for Cowherd who needed the Chargers (+4) to activate FOX Bet’s odds boost for sports bettors. The Chargers lost 24-17 to the Chiefs. sending Cowherd’s Blazin’ Five losing streak to four weeks.

College football continues to confound Cowherd. He is 0-12. For sports bettors in PA to cash at +800 instead of +600 as part of the Marquee 3 Super Boost, Cowherd has to hit on all three choices.  He did make progress Week 12 picking two of three correct, his best effort since Week 5.

Every week we track Cowherd’s picks (and it’s a good thing we do because even he gets confused), so you know how he is faring before you follow his bets at Fox Bet or on your PA sports betting apps.

Cowherd’s college football Week 12 picks

On Thursday on The Herd before doling out his college football Week 12 picks Cowherd said:

“I have not had the best college football betting season. I’m on a bit of a cold streak. This kind of stuff happens. It’s not linear. I would like to reverse this Bitcoin-esque run I’m on of plummeting. I’ve got three games I love.”

Michigan State (+13.5) vs. #15 Michigan

Colin’s pick: Michigan State

Colin’s final score: Michigan 28, Michigan State 17

Cowherd said: “I think Michigan is better. I don’t think they are that much better. Everybody is like, ‘this Michigan team runs the ball.’ They are not top 15 in the country in rushing. ‘Well this quarterback Shea Patterson…’ They are not top 50 in passing efficiency. Mark Dantonio, by the way, 8-4 against Michigan. Harbaugh has gotten tight in these big games. He’s only 3-7 against Notre Dame, Michigan State and Ohio State. Michigan State runs the football. Dantonio’s four losses to Michigan were by 4, 2, 9, and 14.”

Actual final score: Michigan 44, Michigan State 10

Did Colin win? No

#4 Georgia (-2.5) vs. #12 Auburn

Colin’s pick: Georgia

Colin’s final score: Georgia 28, Auburn 23

Cowherd said: “Georgia has dominated this series. Georgia is significantly better at quarterback. We talk about Auburn’s defense, but Georgia’s is better. They are number one in the SEC in virtually everything. They haven’t had a turnover in the last three games. This will not be a high-scoring affair. Bet the under if you have to bet anything. Bo Nix has struggled against every good defense they play. Against top 40 defenses, he completes 45% of his throws. Gus Malzahn has never proven to me that he can beat Georgia or win big games. I’ll swallow the points and take the Bulldogs.”

Actual final score: Georgia 21, Auburn 14

Did Colin win? Yes

#8 Minnesota vs #20 IOWA (-3)

Colin’s pick: Iowa

Colin’s final score: Iowa 27, Minnesota 20

Cowherd said: “Minnesota just beat Penn State, but Vegas knows Iowa is the favorite here, and Iowa is going to win. Iowa has dominated this series. They’ve got better players. Look at the last 10 NFL Drafts. Minnesota is coming off its biggest win in years. The Golden Gophers haven’t beaten ranked opponents in back-to-back weeks in 51 years. They’ve only played three road games, and two of them beat crappy Fresno State in double-overtime and struggled to beat Purdue. Yes, they were great at home at the game of the century for Minnesota. Off that now, you take those 19- and 20-year-olds and go to Iowa, who is pretty good and has got better personnel. Iowa’s got a great defense. Number two in basically every key category in the Big Ten.”

Actual final score: Iowa 23, Minnesota 19

Did Colin win? Yes

Week 11 college football record: 2-1

Season college football overall record: 11-25

Marquee 3 Super Boost record (requires winning all three games): 0-12

Colin Cowherd’s Week 11 NFL picks

“NFL teams get to this time of the year and are like ‘football matters.’ It’s time for us now, football matters. Let’s get all these right,” Cowherd said before rolling out his Blazin’ 5 picks for Week 11.

Houston Texans (+4) vs. Baltimore ravens

Colin’s pick: Texans

Colin’s final score: Texans 28, Ravens 26

Cowherd said: “Deshaun Watson in his career in November, it’s his best month. He is 4-0, completion percentage in the mid-seventies. You know how good Russell Wilson is this year? Only Wilson has accounted for more touchdowns than Watson. The Texans’ offense since they’ve elevated their running game…they’ve got a real offensive line, a Pro Bowl level left tackle and they can run the ball. Houston is top five in total yards, rushing yards and red zone percentage.”

Actual final score: Ravens 41, Texans 7

Did Colin win? No

Denver Broncos (+10.5) vs. Minnesota Vikings

Colin’s pick: Broncos

Colin’s final score: Vikings 26, Broncos 20

Cowherd said: “I’m betting a number. Minnesota off a big Sunday night win. They don’t win those things ever. They are going to pull back. This is going to be a low scoring game. Vic Fangio is one of the better defensive guys in the league. He knows Mike Zimmer well. The Broncos defense ranks top four in yards, passing yards, and red zone touchdown percentage which is amazing when you consider how bad their offense has been. They are 4-1 against the spread. Denver is not a terrible team. Denver is a real team. They lost three games expiring clock. The Chicago game was horrible officiating. I think it’s going to be ugly and choppy and I’ll take the points.”

Actual final score: Vikings 27, Broncos 23

Did Colin win? Yes

New York Jets (+2) vs. Washington Redskins

Colin’s pick: Jets

Colin’s final score: Jets 27, Redskins 23

Cowherd said: “Redskins have the worst offense…ever. They haven’t scored a touchdown in a month. Their offense is the worst in the NFL. They scored nine points or fewer in five games. Now they are on a rookie quarterback who probably shouldn’t be playing. Jay Gruden, one of their smart coaches, they fired. He was keeping it afloat. They are 0-4 at home. The Jets announced this week that Adam Gase is the coach. Jet players want to put good stuff on tape for Coach Adam Gase. He isn’t going anywhere. Watch the players play hard.”

Actual final score: Jets 34, Redskins 17

Did Colin win? Yes

Arizona Cardinals (+10) vs. San Francisco 49ers

Colin’s pick: Cardinals

Colin’s final score: 49ers 27, Cardinals 20

Cowherd said: “Like it? I love it. Anybody else watch these games besides people who live in Phoenix? Arizona is a real football team. You think the Raiders are the big shock in the league, Arizona’s pretty good. 49ers are still banged up with some of their receivers on the perimeter. I’ve been betting the Cardinals for weeks. They are 5-1 against the spread the last six games. Jimmy Garoppolo is coming off a bad game and doesn’t have all his weapons. Don’t kid yourself on Arizona, they aren’t going away. Kyler Murray is really tough to defend. Wait until he gets an o-line and a defense.”

*Be careful when Cowherd uses the “l” word (love or lock). Since Week 7, his “like it, love it/lock pick” record is 0-4.

Actual final score: 49ers 36, Cardinals 26

Did Colin win? Push

Kansas City Chiefs vs. Los Angeles Chargers (+4)

Colin’s pick: Chargers

Colin’s final score: Chargers 28, Chiefs 27

Cowherd said: “Love the Chargers. This game is in Mexico, altitude 7,200 feet. The Chargers went to Colorado to train. Kansas City didn’t. They aren’t happy with the league and stayed in Kansas City. They are going to be sucking air by the second quarter. Philip Rivers will drive me crazy in two-minute drills and makes rookie mistakes but he leads the NFL in passing yards, they have excellent weapons, a good tight end and can run the football. Kansas City can’t get people off the field. If you look at the most rushing yards allowed in the NFL this year, you think Cincinnati is bad, they are the only team worse. Kansas City can’t stop the run and the Chargers can run.”

Actual final score: Chiefs 24, Chargers 17

Did Colin win? No

Blazin’ 5 Week 11 record: 2-2-1

Blazin’ 5 overall record: 28-25-2

Blazin’ 5 record (requires winning three out of five games): 6-5

Did Colin Cowherd Win? Not Lately, But This Could Be The Week Things Turn Around

FOX Sports’ Colin Cowherd has had a rough go of it lately when it comes to his NFL Blazin’ 5 picks, going 1-4 for the past two weeks.

Colin Cowherd’s Blazin’ Five morphed into the Freezin’ Five.

He’s had back-to-back 1-4 weekends. To pile on the pain, Cowherd’s “lock/favorite” picks failed to deliver three weeks in a row.

Three of his Blazin’ 5 picks need to cover for Pennsylvania sports bettors using FOX Bet Sportsbook to double their money with FOX Bet’s odds boost. Cowherd and bettors who choose to follow his picks have been burned recently.

Still, he chooses to play with fire.

For Cowherd college football picks, he has yet to graduate to the win column. He is 0-10. All three of his Marquee 3 Super Boost choices have to be correct for sports bettors in PA to cash at +800 instead of +600.

Coming off his worst week of the season where he only picked one winner, Cowherd is looking for a spark to get the fires blazing again.

Each week we track all of Cowherd’s picks so you can know how he is faring before you follow his bets on your PA sports betting apps.

Cowherd’s college football Week 11 picks

Here are Cowherd’s Marquee 3 Super Boost college football picks for college football’s Week 11.

“I feel great about my picks. I’m going with the favorites,” he says about this week’s selections which feature, to his credit, marquee matchups.

#4 Penn State (-7) vs. #17 Minnesota

Colin’s pick: Penn State

Colin’s final score: Penn State 28, Minnesota 20

Cowherd said: “I do realize it’s probably the biggest game for the Golden Gophers in about a decade. But Penn State’s defense is one of the top two or three defenses in the country. Penn State is 2-0 against ranked opponents this year. They’ve won eight of their last nine road games. Minnesota has played one of the easiest schedules in the country. Not only that, they’ve been very lucky. They’ve faced nothing but backup quarterbacks since Week 2. They haven’t faced a top fifty team this year and historically, this is a big step up in class for them.”

Actual final score: Minnesota 31, Penn State 26

Did Colin win? No

#16 Kansas State vs. TExas (-7)

Colin’s pick: Texas

Colin’s final score: Texas 34, Kansas State  24

Cowherd said: “The Longhorns are coming off a bye. Tom Herman coming off a bye is is 10-2 for his career. Sam Ehlinger is a very good quarterback for Texas. He stunk against TCU. Worst game of his career. But at home he is fantastic, 70% completions, 340 yards a game. He’s back home, he’s comfortable. Texas is third in third-down offense. They are going to control the clock. They are also getting back their best running back. Two guys in the secondary back. Nothing against Kansas State. Nice upset win over Oklahoma. Texas off a bye at home against the Kansas Stat offense that stinks, Texas wins and covers.

Actual final score: Texas 27, Kansas State 24

Did Colin win? No

#2 LSU vs. #3 ALABAMA (-6.5)

Colin’s pick: Alabama

Colin’s final score: Alabama 32, LSU 20

Cowherd said: “Bama has won eight straight meetings. This series is really about Nick Saban. When he was at LSU, he won four out of five. At Alabama, he’s won ten out of thirteen against LSU. Off a bye, he’ll beat Ed Orgeron. The last three times these guys have played, LSU averages three points a game. Joe Burrow has been really, really good but it’s not like these are wild crazy passing concepts. They just moved out of the Stone Age throwing the ball for the first time in two decades. LSU’s defense I do not trust. On the road they are allowing almost thirty points a game. Whose defense do you trust and what coach do you trust? Tua is going to get drafted ahead of Joe Burrow. If he is healthy, I trust him too. Alabama, more than LSU, takes the ball away. They’ve got 18 takeaways this year.”

Actual final score: LSU 46, Alabama 41

Did Colin win? No

Week 11 college football record: 0-3

Season college football overall record: 9-24

Marquee 3 Super Boost record (requires winning all three games): 0-11

Colin Cowherd’s Week 10 NFL picks

Here are Cowherd’s Blazin’ 5 picks for  Week 10.

New York Giants vs. New York Jets (+3)

Colin’s pick: Jets

Colin’s final score: Jets 30, Giants 24

Cowherd said: “Two bad teams playing in the same stadium. The Giants are on a five-game losing streak. Daniel Jones has lost all confidence. Don’t go crazy on Sam Darnold. He was 27-39 last week, had one ugly pick but he moved the ball. He played pretty well last week except for a terrible pick. The Giants since Week 5 are a mess. They are last in everything, points allowed, yards-per-play. They’ve allowed thirty points in five games this year. Only Tampa has allowed more. The turnovers are brutal. Twenty-two, most in the NFL. I get a field goal and the better quarterback. Finally, it looks like Darnold has a full array of offensive pieces.”

Actual final score: Jets 34, Giants 27

Did Colin win? Yes

Arizona Cardinals (+5) vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Colin’s pick: Cardinals

Colin’s final score: Cardinals 28, Buccaneers 26

Cowherd said: “Like it? I love it. I think Arizona is the better team. I think they’ve played a really tough schedule. All five of their losses are all to teams .500 or better. Despite having a rookie quarterback, rookie coach, and bad offensive line they have the fewest turnovers in the NFL with four. Kyler doesn’t have a pick in his last 172 attempts. It’s the longest active streak in the NFL. Tampa has the worst pass defense in the league. They’ve had a brutal schedule. Arizona has ten days rest.”

Actual final score: Buccaneers 30, Cardinals 27

Did Colin win? Yes

Carolina Panthers (+4.5) vs. Green Bay packers

Colin’s pick: Panthers

Colin’s final score: “Green Bay in a close win.”

Cowherd said: “I think Green Bay is good but flawed. I think Carolina is good but average at quarterback but I get 4.5 points. Carolina leads the NFL with 34 sacks. You saw what the Chargers defensive front did to Green Bay’s offensive line. Carolina’s going to get pressure. The Packers have the youngest defense in the NFL. It has dropped off from its impressive start. Kyle Allen has been exceptionally in the Red Zone because he’s got Christian McCaffrey and Greg Olsen is an above-average tight end and I like their two receivers.”

Actual final score: Packers 24, Panthers 16

Did Colin win? No

Los Angeles Rams (-4) vs. Pittsburgh Steelers

Colin’s pick: Rams

Colin’s final score: Rams 28, Steelers 20

Cowherd said: “Like it? I love it. Sean McVay has had his way with the weaker AFC. Outside of the Super Bowl he’s 10-0. He’s off a bye. Their defense, since the acquisition of Jalen Ramsey, has been playing top-five defense. Jared Goff, his November numbers in the last couple years, are all-time stuff. The Rams are on a two-game winning streak and held both of their opponents to ten points each. The Steelers struggle. Mason Rudolph, pop-gun arm.”

Actual final score: Steelers 17, Rams 12

Did Colin win? No

*Be careful when Cowherd uses the “l” word (love or lock).

Week 9: Cowherd went with the Browns (-3.5) as one of his bets of the year and predicted a blowout. The Broncos won 24-19.

For Week 8, Cowherd’s “favorite pick of the week” Carolina (+6) turned into a laugher for those who choose to fade Cowherd and for the 49ers, who cruised to a 51-13 win.

For Week 7, his “lock pick of the year,” the Giants (-3) turned out to be a loser.

Seattle Seahawks vs. San Francisco 49ers (-6.5)

Colin’s pick: 49ers

Colin’s final score: 49ers 31, Seahawks 23

Cowherd said: “I might be from Seattle but I like the 49ers minus 6.5. I think Seattle’s defense…Pete Carroll is doing it with Bobby Wagner and Bondo. They are near the bottom in total defense, pass defense. They’ve become incredibly Russell Wilson-dependent. That’s why I make him my MVP. They 49ers are number one in total pass and red zone defense. They are also getting both their offensive tackles back and their fullback that they use like New England.”

Actual Final Score: Seahawks 27, 49ers 24

Did Colin win? No

Blazin’ 5 Week 10 record: 2-3

Blazin’ 5 overall record: 26-23-1

Blazin’ 5 record (requires winning three out of five games): 6-4

Grading Colin Cowherd’s Football Picks Midway Through The Season

Colin Cowherd continues to suck at picking college games, but midway through the NFL season is doing quite well in betting picks.

There are five online sportsbooks in Pennsylvania. It’s soon to be six with DraftKings set to get its start to during the week of Nov. 4. However, only FOX Bet uses personalities like Colin Cowherd to make picks.

Each week on The Herd, Cowherd makes his selections followed by a bit of commentary. And, each week we follow all of Cowherd’s picks.

Cowherd likes some games more than others. His favorite jargon includes “like it, I love it” or “this is an easy one.”

So, at the midway point of the season, how is Cowherd doing?

Blazin’5 record for 2019

Cowherd doesn’t have to be perfect on his Blazin’ 5. He only needs three NFL picks to cover for sports bettors to double their money with FOX Bet’s odds boost.

Through eight weeks of the NFL season, Cowherd’s picks are 23-16-1.  Cowherd’s started off the year hot but has since cooled off. During the past three weeks, his record is 5-10. Still, his Blazin’ 5 season is off to a 7-2 start.

Teams Cowherd takes to cover the spread the most:

  • Rams (3-0 ATS)
  • Giants (2-1 ATS)
  • Colts (2-1 ATS)
  • Falcons (1-2 ATS)

Blazin’ 5 games Cowherd loved, locked, and lost

Week 7: Houston Texans vs. Indianapolis Colts (-1)

Colin’s pick: Giants

Cowherd said: “One of my picks of the year. I think it’s one of the blowouts of the weekend. ”

Actual final score: Cardinals 27, Giants 21

Marquee Three Super Boost

This year, Cowherd introduced Marquee Three Super Boost College Football Picks.

“I love college football. It was the first sport I fell in love with,” he says. “I will try to get games that are somewhere on TV. I want to pick the SEC game.”

Through nine weeks of college football action, his overall record is 9-18.

Cowherd has yet to hit on all three games to activate the Super Boost. As a result, his Marquee 3 Super Boost record is 0-9.

Teams Cowherd takes to cover the spread the most:

  • Washington (2-1 ATS)
  • Michigan (2-0 ATS)
  • Florida (1-1 ATS)
  • Northwestern (1-1 ATS)
  • Auburn (1-1 ATS)
  • LSU (0-2 ATS)

No such thing as an easy ‘A’

How did Cowherd fare on what he thought were easy pickings? He’s 2-3 on games he figured were going to be a breeze.

Week 4: #22 Washington (-6.5) vs. BYU

Colin’s pick: Washington

Cowherd said: “Like it, I love it. My play of the weekend.”

Actual final score: Washington 45, BYU 19

Did Colin win?  Yes

Week 7: #Florida vs. #5 LSU (-13)

Colin’s pick: LSU

Colin’s final score: LSU 40, Florida 21

Cowherd said: “This may be my favorite college pick of the year. I’ll take LSU to blowout Florida. This is easy stuff..”

Actual final score: LSU 42, Florida 28

Did Colin win?  No

Week 7: USC vs. Notre Dame (-10.5)

Colin’s pick: Notre Dame

Colin’s final score: Notre Dame 36, USC 23

Cowherd said: “Very easy. I’ll take Notre Dame in a blowout win. They will easily cover.”

Actual final score: Notre Dame 30, USC 27

Did Colin win? No

Week 8: #9 Florida (-5) vs. South Carolina

Colin’s pick: Florida

Colin’s final score: Florida 30, South Carolina 20

Cowherd said: “I’ll take Florida to win big. South Carolina upset Georgia but if you look at the numbers they were totally dominated in that game.  They’ll win comfortably.”

Actual final score: Florida 38, South Carolina 27

Did Colin win? Yes

Week 9: #9 Auburn vs. #2 LSU (-10.5)

Colin’s pick: LSU

Colin’s final score: LSU 36, Auburn 20

Cowherd said: “Blowout, baby! Auburn is going to get overwhelmed. Auburn never wins this game in Death Valley. LSU wins it comfortably.

Actual final score: LSU 23, Auburn 20

Did Colin win? No

Did Colin Cowherd Win? The Underdogs Rained On His Parade

Colin Cowherd is backing the Browns, among others, as his five top FOX Bet NFL picks for Week 9 of NFL football betting action.

Colin Cowherd had an awful 1-7 weekend of picks.

He got bit by “dogs.”

His college football underdog selections proved to be toothless. For the season, Cowherd’s college picks stink more than a wet pup. He is 0-10. All three picks of his Marquee 3 Super Boost selections need to be correct for sports bettors to cash at +800 instead of +600. He was wrong on all three this past week.

Cowherd mostly stuck with the favorites for his Blazin 5′ picks. But on Sunday, the dogs had their day and Cowherd posted another 1-4 week. It’s his third one-win performance in the past four weeks. It meant no odds boost on FOX Bet wagers for PA sports bettors.

For the third week in a row, Cowherd’s lock/favorite pick of the week failed to deliver. He picked the Browns (-3.5) and said:

“It’s going to be an utter blowout and you’ll see it early.”

The Browns lost to the Broncos 24-19.

Each week we track all of Cowherd’s picks so you can know how he is faring before you follow his bets on your PA sports betting apps.

Cowherd’s college football Week 10 picks

Here are Cowherd’s Marquee 3 Super Boost college football picks for college football’s Week 10.

#8 Georgia vs. #6 Flordia (+6.5)

Colin’s pick: Florida

Colin’s final score: Georgia 24, Florida 23

Cowherd said: “We don’t know what Georgia is. Now the Notre Dame win doesn’t look like anything because Notre Dame got their ears boxed by Michigan. I love their athletes and I like their coach. They have more good players in this game. But Jake Fromm has dropped off the past two weeks. He’s given you 160 yards a game, one touchdown, and three picks in the last two games. Florida is really well-coached. They’ve won 11 of 12. They have the best defense in the SEC and two starters come back off injury. I think Florida is still a year away. I think Georgia’s got better players, but I’m betting a number here.”

Actual final score: Georgia 24, Floria 17

Did Colin win? No

#9 Utah vs. WAshington (+3)

Colin’s pick: Washington

Colin’s final score: Washington 24, Utah 23

Cowherd said: “This is an easy one. Washington has dominated this series. They are at home, off a bye, and off a loss. Utah is a very good team but they only throw on 36% of their plays. They can be predictable. Chris Peterson is a great coach. Off his last eighteen byes, he is 18-0 straight up. After his last nine losses at Washington, he is 9-0. This is a team that is a year away. They upset Utah who can be pretty predictable on offense.”

Actual final score: Utah 33, Washington 28

Did Colin win? No

#7 oregon vs. USC (+4.5)

Colin’s pick: USC

Colin’s final score: USC 33, Oregon 30

Cowherd said: “This is another easy one. USC is going to replace their coach at the end of the year. It’s not like Clay Helton’s been man-overboard. They don’t beat great teams but Oregon is not a great team. USC is at home, where they are very good. Oregon hasn’t beat a ranked team this year. Oregon’s been lucky. They survived the last two weeks against Washington and Washington State. The Ducks defense has dropped off dramatically. USC is just a different team at the Coliseum. They are 23-3 in their last 26 home games. In their last nine home games against ranked teams, they are actually pretty good, 8-1. The one thing USC does, they can throw it down the field and Oregon is susceptible to that. And USC gets after the quarterback. When they go on the road Oregon makes mistakes. USC gets the upset. This will be a wild, high scoring game.”

Actual final score: Oregon 56, USC 24

Did Colin win? No

Week 10 college football record: 0-3

Season college football overall record: 9-21

Marquee 3 Super Boost record (requires winning all three games): 0-10

Colin Cowherd’s Week 9 NFL picks

Here are Cowherd’s Blazin’ 5 picks for  Week 9.

Indianapolis Colts (-1.5) vs. Pittsburgh Steelers

Colin’s pick: Colts

Colin’s final score: Colts 26, Steelers 23

Cowherd said: “I think the Colts are playing for a division. Houston and the Colts are playing for that division. Jacksonville and Tennessee aren’t far behind, so there is a real sense of urgency for the Colts. James Connor, the running back, not practicing for the Steelers, so they won’t be able to run the ball and have an incredibly limited passing offense. The Colts used to be an Andrew Luck story, now they are a defensive story. Their defense in October is fifth in points allowed, eighth in sacks, tied for fifth in third-down percentage. I think they are very well-coached. They are on a three-game winning streak. Their defense is playing excellent football.”

Actual final score: Steelers 26, Colts 24

Did Colin win? No

Detroit Lions vs. Oakland Raiders (-2.5)

Colin’s pick: Raiders

Colin’s final score: Raiders 31, Lions 24

Cowherd said: “This is a game that is interesting. Oakland has not played at home for a long time. That fanbase is going to be crazy. Matt Stafford is sick. Has a cold. Not going at full-strength. Detroit’s beat-up physically. Meanwhile the Raiders, think about how tough their schedule has been, and here they are, a pretty darn good football team. And all I gotta give up is less than a field goal. The Detroit Lions are great in the first quarter. They are dreadful everywhere else. Derek Carr in the last month has been on fire. He’s in a groove with Jon Gruden, completing 71% of his throws .”

Actual final score: Raiders 31, Lions 24

Did Colin win? Yes

Cleveland Browns (-3.5) vs. Denver Broncos

Colin’s pick: Browns

Colin’s final score: Browns 33 Broncos 10

Cowherd said: “One of my bets of the year. I’ll take Cleveland to blow out the Broncos. Denver has nothing to play for. They are starting a quarterback, Brandon Allen, who has never taken an NFL snap. It’s one of the worst offensive lines and maybe the worst left tackles in the NFL. Cleveland’s defense is as healthy as it’s been all year. The Broncos have 27 sacks. Bottom six in the league. The Browns are top six in sacks. This is a pop-gun offense now with a backup quarterback. Nick Chubb witll take the pressure off Baker. It’s going to be an utter blowout and you’ll see it early.”

Actual final score: Broncos 24, Browns 19

Did Colin win? No

Green Bay Packers (-3.5) vs. Los Angeles Chargers

Colin’s pick: Packers

Colin’s final score: Packers 27 Chargers 23

Cowherd said: “It’s actually a home game for the Packers. They are suggesting it will be the most lopsided road crowd in the Chargers brief history at their stadium. Eighty percent Packer fans. The Chargers offensive line is weak. They can’t run the ball. Phillip Rivers is now an older unathletic quarterback. They just struggle to get consistent yards. Green Bay, best defense in years, best running game in years. Now, they get Davante Adams back. Aaron Rodgers the last two weeks without him has been absolutely on fire. He leads the league in TD/INT ratio and passer rating. Phillip Rivers last week threw for 200 yards.”

Actual final score: Chargers 26, Packers 11

Did Colin win? No

new England Patriots (-3) vs. Baltimore Ravens

Colin’s pick: New England

Colin’s final score: Patriots 30, Ravens 23

Cowherd said: “I’m going to take the Patriots. Don’t overthink the room on this. Baltimore’s big win is Seattle. I’m not sure how good Seattle is. They are like a football away from battling for fourth in their division. Baltimore is a good team. They aren’t a special team. Lamar Jackson is fun and can run like crazy. But New England controls the football. Mohamed Sanu, Edelman, Jakobi Myers, middle of the field. New England’s defense is first in everything. Patriots have won 21 straight games against first or second-year quarterbacks. New England’s going to control the ball, middle of the field, take a lead. Young quarterback against a great defense. Now with Sanu, there is more of an identity with New England’s offense. This is an easy three to swallow. This is not Baltimore of old. Their offense is far more productive than their defense.”

Actual final score: Ravens 37, Patriots 20

Did Colin win? No

Blazin’ 5 Week 9 record: 1-4

Blazin’ 5 overall record: 24-20-1

Blazin’ 5 record (requires winning three out of five games): 7-3
