Big prizes await cash game players at BetMGM Poker PA this year. After going live in Ontario, Canada in 2022, BetMGM Poker brought its popular Hot Tables feature to American soil and it’s now available for PA online poker players.
The cash-drop jackpot game came to New Jersey players at the end of last year, and after a successful deployment, Pennsylvania and Michigan’s clients now join the party.
Best of all, this is not a case of beta testing or a short-term promotion. It will be available throughout 2023 and hopefully here to stay.
What are Hot Tables at BetMGM Poker PA?
Hot Tables is a promotion that randomly triggers jackpot drops onto cash game tables. Players do not need to opt in to be eligible for prizes.
Games are available across No-Limit Hold’em stakes between 10 and 25 cents and $2.50/$5, including FastForward tables, BetMGM Poker’s fast-fold variant.
When Hot Tables launched in Ontario, Luke Staudenmaier, Director of Poker at BetMGM, said:
“This feature gives grinders, recreational players and everyone in between, a chance at the same life-changing prizing that BetMGM Casino players regularly enjoy through our jackpot network.”
All games with at least three players are eligible for Hot Tables drops, which can reach as high as $1,500. Five separate tiers hit at different frequencies and give players multiple opportunities to win prizes.
- Bronze and silver tiers pay 100% of the prize to the hand winner.
- Gold, platinum and diamond tiers pay 50% to the winner and distribute the remaining 50% to all other players dealt into the hand.
Each tier provides a prize range that differs depending on stakes.
Tier $0.10/$0.25 $0.25/$0.50 $0.50/$1 $1/$2 $2.50/$5
Bronze $0.50 to $1.50 $1 to $3 $2 to $4 $2 to $6 $5 to $15
Silver $1.50 to $4.50 $2 to $6 $3 to $7 $4 to $12 $10 to $30
Gold $2.50 to $7.50 $4 to $12 $5 to $15 $6 to $14 $20 to $60
Platinum $5 to $15 $10 to $30 $10 to $30 $16 to $44 $30 to $90
Diamond $100 to $300 $200 to $600 $250 to $750 $300 to $900 $500 to $1500
Benefits of Hot Tables for Pennsylvania poker players
Hot Tables add another wrinkle to traditional cash games just like conventional “splash pots” do in live games. Some reasons to play these games are:
- It gives everyone a shot at jackpot money
- Different tiers allow for smaller jackpots to hit more frequently
- Can deter bots
- Creates additional action
- It makes games more fun
BetMGM blazing trails in the US online poker market
After a year of successful deployment up north, BetMGM Poker’s Hot Tables are the first cash-drop games to go live in the US.
Hot Tables originated at partypoker, whose New Jersey client is a part of the BetMGM Poker network, following in the footsteps of Run It Once Poker’s “Splash the Pot” games that originated in 2019.
Now that these games are live in the US, look for other online poker sites to follow. They have been popular for years overseas, and other operators will want to take advantage.
PokerStars PA, which operates ring-fenced in Pennsylvania, has merged player pools in New Jersey and Michigan, will be watching how players react.
Additionally, Run It Once (RIO) signed a deal with Rush Street Interactive (Rivers) last year and could become the next poker site to launch in Pennsylvania. When RIO goes live, it will offer its Splash the Pot games from the beginning.
