Colin Cowherd’s Blazin’ 5 record

Before his hiatus, Colin Cowherd righted the ship with a 4-1 record in Week 11. He now sits at 148-149-9 (49.3%) lifetime since 2019.

  • 2022: 25-23-2
  • 2021: 37-43-2
  • 2020: 40-41-2
  • 2019: 46-42-3

Week 11 Wins:

  • Las Vegas Raiders (+3) at Denver Broncos (Final Score: Raiders 22, Broncos 16)
  • Dallas Cowboys (-1.5) at Minnesota Vikings (Final Score: Cowboys 40, Vikings 3)
  • Cincinnati Bengals (-3.5) at Pittsburgh Steelers (Final Score: Bengals 37, Steelers 30)
  • Los Angeles Chargers (+5) vs. Kansas City Chiefs (Final Score: Chiefs 30, Chargers 27)

Week 11 Loss:

  • Houston Texans (+3) vs. Washington Commanders (Final Score: Commanders 23, Texans 10)

Week 13 picks from The Herd

“Blazin’ 5 picks return. I. Love. Underdogs.”

Los Angeles Chargers at Las Vegas Raiders (+1)

Cowherd pick: Raiders

Final score prediction: Raiders 31, Chargers 28

Cowherd said:

“I’m gonna take the Raiders at home +1. They’re coming off an overtime win. Back-to-back walk-off overtime wins, so they’re feeling themselves, and they have to win here. Their offense [is] explosive and doesn’t beat itself. [They have] only nine giveaways this year, fewest in the league.

“The Chargers, weird team. They’ve trailed by 10 or more points in seven of their 11 games. Their defense isn’t good, and it may be getting worse. They’ve allowed 150-plus rushing yards in five straight games. Longest active streak in the league, and here comes Josh Jacobs. I like the Raiders to win. I’ll take the point, 31-28.”

Final Score: Raiders 27, Chargers 20

Did Colin Cowherd Win? Yes

Miami Dolphins at San Francisco 49ers (-3.5)

Cowherd pick: 49ers

Final score prediction: 49ers 28, Dolphins 24

Cowherd said:

“I like the Niners -3.5. It could be uglier. Two teams on winning streaks, the Dolphins five straight and the Niners four straight. But who have the Dolphins beaten? The Steelers, the Lions, the Bears, the Browns and the Texans. They can’t defend the tight end.

“And here comes the Niners, 4-0 since running back Christian McCaffrey was inserted into the starting lineup, the best scoring defense, the highest rate of receiving yards after the catch. [George] Kittle, Deebo [Samuel], McCaffrey. I think the Dolphins, flying cross-country, get exposed. Niners win it. They cover 28-24.”

Final Score: 49ers 33, Dolphins 17

Did Colin Cowherd Win? Yes

Tennessee Titans (+4.5) at Philadelphia Eagles

Cowherd pick: Titans

Final score prediction: Titans 27, Eagles 24

Cowherd said:

“Like it? I love it! How are the Titans getting four-and-a-half?! Two run-heavy teams. The difference is the Titans have the number-three rush defense and number-one third-down defense. They’ll get Philly off the field [with the] Eagles on a short rest week.

“Eight of the 11 Titans games have been decided by one possession, and [head coach Mike] Vrabel has been great in one-possession games in his career, 25-13.

“The Eagles defense, they’ll let you run it. Ninety-nine-plus rushing yards in seven straight games. Derek Henry, maybe you’ve heard of him. I think the Titans could be the better team here. I think they win, and they cover, Titans 27-24 over Philly.”

Final Score: Eagles 35, Titans 10

Did Colin Cowherd Win? No

Jacksonville Jaguars at Detroit Lions (-1)

Cowherd pick: Lions

Final score prediction: Lions 32, Jaguars 27

Cowherd said:

“Lions -1. Line’s fluctuated back and forth. I like Detroit at home coming off extra rest. They’ve won three of four. Jared Goff, by the way, has only been sacked 17 times. That is the fewest of any starting quarterback with 10 starts. This is an elite O-line. Jamaal Williams, the running back, has 13 rushing touchdowns. Amon-Ra St. Brown is scheduled to play.

“The Jags are a young, fun team coming off a wildly emotional win. Doug Pederson’s biggest. I think they pull back, not mature enough to finish off games on the road. The Lions have been a very good home team. Detroit wins, I’ll swallow the point, 32-27.”

Final Score: Lions 40, Jaguars 14

Did Colin Cowherd Win? Yes

New York Jets (+3) at Minnesota Vikings

Cowherd pick: Jets

Final score prediction: Jets 24, Vikings 23

Cowherd said:

“You know, I really do like the Vikings even though I bet against them a lot because I think they’re overvalued on the market. Jets +3 is the side to me.

“New York’s been a good road team. Why? Because they have a great defense. Defense travels, they’re 4-1 on the road. And they’ve held four straight opponents under 200 passing yards. That’s why I like the Jets. Sauce Gardner, the great rookie corner, should slow down Justin Jefferson.

“Eight of the nine Minnesota wins have come by one possession. They simply play a lot of close games, and their offense, their running game, where’d it go? Three of the last four games, they’ve rushed for under 75 yards. I think it’s an ugly, low-scoring, close game. Three points is too many. How about a shocker? Jets win and cover 24-23.”

Final Score: Vikings 27, Jets 22

“Dolan out winners”

ESPN’s Erin Dolan had a huge Week 12, correctly calling for the Giants +8 on Thanksgiving, along with a Jamaal Williams touchdown. She added to that on Sunday with plays of an Aaron Rodgers interception and Joe Burrow going over 275 passing yards.

On Monday night, she also said Diontae Johnson would have over 4.5 receptions, and Jonathan Taylor would go for under 106.5 total yards from scrimmage.

Of the six picks, she went 5-1, only missing out as Burrow threw for 270 yards. Her week 13 picks are as follows:

  • Nick Folk over 1.5 field goals – Loss
  • AJ Brown Anytime TD – Win
  • New York Jets (+3) at Minnesota Vikings – Loss
  • Pittsburgh Steelers (Money Line) at Atlanta Falcons – Win
  • Parlay: Kansas City Chiefs (Money Line) vs. Cincinnati Bengals; Joe Burrow Over 1.5 Passing TDs, Ja’Marr Chase Anytime TD – Loss

Hershkovich only publishes picks he personally makes. So far, he has two, though we’ll let you know Sunday morning if he’s added to that total.

  • Detroit Lions (-1) vs. Jacksonville Jaguars – Win
  • New York Giants vs. Washington Commanders Under 40.5. – Win
