The dogs were barking last week, and Colin Cowherd paid attention. He snapped a three-week losing streak in his Blazin’ 5, going 4-1 in Week 6 of the 2022 NFL season.
Cowherd now boasts a 17-13 record on the year, and he will look to build on that in Week 7.
Cowherd’s Blazin’ 5 picks come out every Friday at 1 p.m. ET on his show, The Herd. Other insiders release their picks throughout the week, with Barstool’s crew publishing their mortal locks before the first slate of games kick off Sunday afternoon.
Other industry experts such as Erin Dolan, Eli Hershkovich and the Barstool Advisors also had good weeks, and their picks are worth noting below, too.

Colin Cowherd’s Blazin’ 5 record
Cowherd has a chance at pulling to .500 lifetime since beginning the Blazin’ 5 in 2019. His overall record is 136-138-7 through six weeks of the 2022 season. A yearly breakdown of his record:
- 2022: 17-13-0
- 2021: 37-43-2
- 2020: 40-41-2
- 2019: 42-41-3
Week 6 wins:
- New York Jets (+6) at Green Bay Packers (final score: Jets 27, Packers 10)
- Atlanta Falcons (+5.5) vs. San Francisco 49ers (final score: Falcons 28, 49ers 14)
- Pittsburgh Steelers (+8.5) vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers (final score: Steelers 20, Buccaneers 18)
- Seattle Seahawks (+2.5) vs. Arizona Cardinals (final score: Seahawks 19, Cardinals 9)
Week 6 losses:
- Baltimore Ravens (-6) at New York Giants (final score: Giants 24, Ravens 20)
Colin Cowherd Blazin’ 5 Week 7 NFL picks
Cowherd took four underdogs in Week 6, and all four won outright. His lone favorite was also his only L for the week: Baltimore.
This week, he’s doubling down and picking the Ravens again as his only favorite in Week 7.
Baltimore Ravens (-6.5) vs. Cleveland Browns
Cowherd pick: Ravens
Final score prediction: Ravens 28, Browns 20
Cowherd said:
“My one favorite I like is Baltimore -6.5. They have led every game by 10 points, it’s a top-five scoring offense and their defense has a takeaway in eight straight games. But this game’s about Cleveland. They’re banged up on the O-line. Banged up on defense. And Jacoby Brissett, the league’s figured him out. The last three weeks, he’s completing 55% of his throws, he’s 0-3 and he’s not always getting great protection.”
“Also, Cleveland’s defense…they’ve been a terrible fourth-quarter defense. The Ravens are furious. They believe they gave a game away last week. They come home, and they beat them, convincingly, 28-20 over the Browns. It will not be this close, though. They’ll control the game.”
Final Score: Ravens 23, Browns 20

Green Bay Packers at Washington Commanders (+4.5)
Cowherd pick: Commanders
Final score prediction: Packers 27, Commanders 24
Cowherd said:
“You know, Green Bay may win, but I’m gonna take the 4.5 points. Taylor Heinicke had a great game the last time he faced the Packers, and he’s completed 75% of his throws in three of his last four home starts. He’s a gamer, he can play.”
“The Packers have their fewest points scored in any six-game span in Aaron Rodgers’ history. And in second halves the last couple of weeks, they’re a mess. They have no second gear, and their defense is not pressuring the quarterback. I think Washington, I’m gonna take the points. I’ll take the Packers and Aaron to make something happen late to win. But 27-24 Green Bay. Take the points.”
Final Score: Commanders 23, Packers 21

New York Jets (+1) at Denver Broncos
Cowherd pick: Jets
Final score prediction: Jets 24, Broncos 23
Cowherd said:
“I’ll take the Jets +1. They won’t need it, they’ll win outright. Listen, this franchise, they’ve taken the ball out of Zach Wilson’s hands. He doesn’t have any giveaways in five of his last six starts, and they’re giving the ball to their running back, Breece Hall, who’s great. Four hundred scrimmage yards the last three weeks.”
“But the story of this team is defense. Last three weeks, gaining confidence, playing their butts off and they will dominate a mess of an offensive line in Denver. I take the Jets to win 24-23. I like their optimism, energy and health right now.”
Final Score: Jets 16, Broncos 9

Kansas City Chiefs at San Francisco 49ers (+2.5)
Cowherd pick: 49ers
Final score prediction: 49ers 30, Chiefs 27
Cowherd said:
“I’m takin’ the Niners. They’ve won six straight home games, and Garoppolo is always better at home, and they’re getting healthier. They’re averaging 7.3 yards after the catch – that’s best in the NFL. The Chiefs are not a great tackling team.”
“But the Niners’ defense is getting healthier, and they are money, baby! And in this game, I think Nick Bosa’s back. Jimmie Ward could be back. The Chiefs have allowed three-plus touchdowns in five of six games. Most in the NFL. This is a leaky defense.”
“And I know, they just lost to Buffalo. They lost to Buffalo because Buffalo, in that game, was a better team. San Francisco, though not completely healthy, at home is a better team here. And they beat the Chiefs 30-27.”
Final Score: Chiefs 44, 49ers 23
Did Colin Cowherd Win? No
Seattle Seahawks (+5) at Los Angeles Chargers
Cowherd pick: Seahawks
Final score prediction: Seahawks 28, Chargers 24
Cowherd said:
“This is an interesting one. I initially leaned Chargers, but I’m gonna take the Seahawks for a couple of reasons. We have to be honest here: Geno Smith is playing really well. With these new rookie tackles in Seattle, both are fantastic, Kenneth Walker, they have a run game that’s two-tiered.”
“And the Chargers, even when they’ve won, three of their four wins have come by less than six. So, they’re in a lot of close games. Justin Herbert got pressured 15 times last week, their offensive line’s still not completely healthy and they’re allowing almost six yards a play. We’ve got a little upset here. I think the Seahawks win a wildly entertaining game, 28-24. I was talked into that yesterday.”
Final Score: Seahawks 37, Chargers 23
