Caesars Casino PA is launching a new app for those located in the Keystone State. The casino brand launched in Pennsylvania in March 2020, but is looking to stay competitive with its latest app update. The update, which arrived on Aug. 30, combines the company’s sportsbook and online casino offerings in one single app.

The app’s new features will provide an upgrade to both platforms and will include quicker deposit and withdrawal transactions. Improvements also showcase live game scores, expanded betting features, and a redesigned interface.

With the launch, there are now two Caesars apps live in PA for the time being. The Black and Gold app is for online casino gaming. Meanwhile, the Green and Gold app can be used for casino gaming and sports betting.

New Caesars Casino now available in PA

The home button of the Green and Gold app starts users on the Caesars Sportsbook page. A single click on the casino icon takes players into the online casino.

The casino interface features three icons at the top (featured, table games, slots) for easy navigation. It also contains additional graphics below that spotlight featured games and promotions.

The Caesars online casino, which operates in partnership with Harrah’s Philadelphia, finished in the bottom half of Pennsylvania’s online operators in total revenue during the month of July. The updated app is one of several strategic moves made by Caesars to climb higher in the competition.

“Our new, elevated app offers customers a user-friendly sports betting and casino gaming experience combined with rewards they can’t get anywhere else,” Eric Hession, co-president of Caesars Digital, said in a news release.

Caesars snags BetMGM executive to boost its own brand

Caesars made another recent move to strengthen its brand by hiring a rival executive. In a press release on Sept. 1, Caesars announced that Matt Sunderland, formerly of BetMGM Casino PA, would become its Senior Vice President of iGaming starting on Oct. 1.

Sunderland has 20 years of experience in the casino gaming industry, most recently as VP of Gaming for BetMGM. While there, he oversaw triple-digit revenue growth in year-over-year numbers.

“This is an exciting time to be in iGaming and at Caesars Entertainment,” Sunderland said in the release. “I am so pleased to join the Caesars team. As the industry continues to grow, I’m looking forward to identifying new potential for our iGaming business while continuing to bring top-notch service to our customers.”

Sunderland has also worked as an iGaming consultant for GVC and MGM Resorts, and has held several senior leadership roles at Probability PLC, GTECH/IGT, and CNN International. He’ll be expected to help Caesars further expand its footprint across the country and grow its market share in Michigan, New Jersey, West Virginia, Ontario, and PA, where it already operates its sportsbook and casino.

“We’re thrilled to have Matt join the Caesars team,” Hession said in the release. “His deep experience and successful track record will be a tremendous asset as we continue to grow our iGaming and sports betting business. We’re looking forward to what we can accomplish together with Caesars Sportsbook & Casino.”
