WynnBet Casino PA is expected to launch sometime in 2022, but is that still going to happen?
Currently live in nine states, the online casino arm of Wynn Resorts is still awaiting licensure approval in the Keystone State, where its status is among those listed as “pending.”
Wynn CEO expresses excitement toward iGaming and sports betting
Wynn Resorts recently reported a 29% increase in revenue for the first quarter of 2022, totaling $953.3 million, and concurrently announced a commitment to the iGaming and sports betting branches.
“We’ve been pleased with the business over the course of the quarter,” said Wynn CEO Craig Billings. “We really do believe in the industry longer term,” he stated of legal gambling, further touching on sports also playing a huge role as more states legalize sports betting nationwide.
This news comes six months after Wynn and the blank-check company, Austerlitz Acquisition Corporation I, mutually agreed to cancel a deal that would create a joint business to list on the NASDAQ stock exchange.
At that time, Billings cited a pivot in growth strategy from high spending toward a more targeted ROI-focused strategy.

WynnBet Sportsbook soon to follow in PA?
The Pennsylvania sports betting market is one of the largest in the US, recently becoming just the third state in history to surpass $1 billion in lifetime sports betting revenue. Also being one of the most mature markets, established operators such as FanDuel, DraftKings, and BetRivers have been accepting bets since as early as 2019.
But WynnBET Sportsbook PA is nowhere to be found inside the Keystone State.
“Sports is where the majority of the addressable market is today,” Billings said, though he followed it with statements about Massachusetts and its recent passage of a sports betting bill.
Given Wynn’s presence in Massachusetts with Encore Boston Harbor, it would be unsurprising to see the company launch there. However, that statement should apply to any and all other potential markets, including Pennsylvania and Iowa.
When Wynn Sportsbook PA does go live, players will be able to take advantage of a $200 risk-free bet within 10 days of signing up. There are no additional promo codes required. It will be available only via mobile app, with an easy-to-use interface for novice and expert bettors alike.
That time still remains unknown, though. As of now, WynnBet is not known to have applied for a sports betting license in Pennsylvania. That could change upon receiving PGCB approval for iGaming operations.
