Colin Cowherd finally got the Blazin’ 5 fires burning with his Week 8 picks. He went 3-2 which is his first plus .500 week of the 2021 NFL season.

On Friday’s episode of “The Herd,” Cowherd sounded confident that he would follow it up with another winner.

“We are going to learn a lot this week. Keep your eye on the Patriots. They looked like they are back. I will be bunkered down in the grotto. It’s a no alcohol, no fuzziness weekend.”

However, it was a short lived flame. Cowherd returned to his losing ways in Week 9. He went 2-3 and only his underdog picks covered the spread.

Minnesota Vikings vs. Baltimore Ravens (-6)

Colin’s pick: Ravens

Colin’s final score: Ravens 33, Vikings 24

Cowherd said:

“I like the Ravens to win big. They are coming off a bye and great coaches off a bye do well. They’ve won five of their last six games. They are averaging over 6 yards per play. Lamar Jackson, in terms of running and throwing, leads the NFL. The Vikings are 1-5 in their last 6 against winning teams. the AFC sees a lot of Jackson, the NFC does not. He’s 11-0 against the NFC with 25 TDs and 3 INTs. He is way faster than the tape.”

Actual final score: Ravens 34, Vikings 31

Denver Broncos vs. Dallas Cowboys (-9.5)

Colin’s pick: Cowboys

Colin’s final score: Cowboys 34, Broncos 23

Cowherd said:

“Broncos trade Von Miller. What is the message to the locker room? We’re done. the Cowboys are on a six-game winning streak and are only one of two teams in the league to outgain every opponent. Dak is rolling averaging 300+ passing yards. The Broncos have lost 3 of 4 games and are banged up. The Broncos are 0-4 if they allow over 14 points, translation – you’re not keeping the score low with Dallas.”

Actual final score: Broncos 30, Cowboys 16

Atlanta Falcons (+6.5) vs. New Orleans Saints

Colin’s pick: Falcons

Colin’s final score: Saints 26, Falcons 24

Cowherd said:

“I know, you think I’m crazy. The number is too big, it’s a division rival. These teams always play close. The Falcons are 2-2 in their last four. In 23-straight games, Atlanta has not allowed a 100-yard rusher. The Saints has a very weak receiving corps. New Orleans has only 15 big plays all year, lowest in the NFL, they have to run the ball. Atlanta’s got a good run defense.”

Actual final score: Falcons 27, Saints 25

Did Colin Cowherd win? Yes

Las Vegas Raiders vs. New York Giants (+3)

Colin’s pick: Giants

Colin’s final score: Giants 24, Raiders 23

Cowherd said:

“The Giants are getting healthier. Daniel Jones has back-to-back-games with a 95+ passer rating and their defense takes the ball away. The Raiders are dealing with mulitple off-field issues and their Red Zone defense is the worst in the league. The Giants are going to get some TDs.”

Actual final score: Giants 23, Raiders 16

Did Colin Cowherd win? Yes

Arizona Cardinals vs. San Francisco 49ers (-1)

Colin’s pick: 49ers

Colin’s final score: 49ers 30, Cardinals 24

Cowherd said:

“Like it, I love it. Niners had a 300-yard passer, a 100-yard rusher, a 100-yard receiver (last week). DeAndre Hopkins has a hamstring issue, AJ Green is on the COVID list, Kyler Murray didn’t practice. J.J.Watt is gone and he was their best run defender. Jimmy Garoppolo is 3-1 versus the Cardinals with a 115.9 passer rating. Arizona is beat up.”

Acutal final score: Cardinals 31, 49ers 17

Did Colin Cowherd win: No

Cowherd’s Week 9 Blazin’ 5 record: 2-3

Colin Cowherd 2021 Blazin’ 5 overall record: 18-23-1
