Colin Cowherd’s week didn’t start out great when the Denver Broncos (+6) failed to cover and were stampeded 48-19 by the Buffalo Bills. But he was saved by the hook, with the Cardinals (-6.5) and Saints (+3.5) to finish 4-1. It was his best outcome for Blazin’ 5 picks since Week 10.
Two weeks left in the NFL regular season still gives Cowherd time to beat 2019’s Blazin’ 5 record (42-41-3). He is currently 37-35-2.
Cowherd’s next move
Colin Cowherd has been dropping big hints about his next move, and he is even more blunt about his thoughts about the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Before the season started, he predicted they would finish 7-9. He has had plenty to say about them, including how their 11-0 record was “hollow.”
He continued his cigar-smoking-filled diatribes against the Steelers, saying that “their time has come and gone.”
Cowherd Moving to Las Vegas?
Various replies to Cowherd’s “My life bout to get more interesting” tweet speculated that he is moving to Las Vegas.
On Dec. 11, he tweeted what seems to be quite an obvious sign:

Buffalo Bills vs. Denver Broncos (+6)
Colin’s pick: Broncos
Colin’s final score: Bills 26, Broncos 23
Cowherd said:
“I am concerned about their injuries at cornerback, but this is the perfect letdown spot for Buffalo. Josh Allen, first trip to Mile High, the Bills have had several emotional wins, second cross-country trip in the last few weeks. Denver has a really good defensive coach, and Allen can make mistakes. Denver’s defense is top 10 in everything that matters. Drew Lock, the last couple weeks, appears to have at least stabilized. The Broncos are the second best ATS.”
Actual final score: Bills 48, Broncos 19
Did Colin win?: No
New England Patriots vs. Miami Dolphins (-1.5)
Boom Bet: 4X your money if Cam Newton throws 1+ INT and Miami wins
Colin’s pick: Dolphins
Colin’s final score: Dolphins 24, Patriots 20
Cowherd said:
“What about Tua against Belichick? What about Cam Newton against this defense? The Dolphins’ defense is second in ppg allowed, first in takeaways, first in opponents’ third down percentage. Brian Flores is the perfect coach for Tua in this game because young quarterbacks struggle with Belichick. Tua doesn’t make mistakes, nine TDs and one pick this year. I get a better team, better defense, a great young coach, a team playing for more.”
Actual final score: Dolphins 22, Patriots 12
Did Colin win?: Yes
Seattle Seahawks vs. Washington (+6.5)
Colin’s pick: Washington
Colin’s final score: Seahawks 21, Washington 20
Cowherd said:
“The line has moved a bit here. The Seahawks have covered the spread three times in the last nine games. Why? They are overvalued. Their offensive line is the weak point, and the defensive line for Washington is the strength. I think this game gets really ugly. I think this game is also about Ron Rivera. Early in the year, he was taking cancer treatments. He is out of that, he’s more robust and his team is on a four-game winning streak, and during that time, they are number one in point differential. They also have four players with at least five sacks. It’s not just Chase Young. This makes for a long scoring, ugly game.”
Actual final score: Seahawks 20, Washington 15
Did Colin win?: Yes
Philadelphia Eagles vs. Arizona Cardinals (-6.5)
Cowherd’s pick: Cardinals
Colin’s final score: Cardinals 28, Eagles 20
Colin Cowherd said:
“This is my least favorite pick, so bet less. If you look at what Philadelphia did last week, the Saints were guessing. They had no idea what they were going to get. Arizona knows exactly what they are going to get with Jalen Hurts because they see it every day at practice. They are used to seeing a highly athletic quarterback. Philadelphia has allowed the most rush yards to QBs this season (364). Their defense has four picks all year. Translation: Kyler Murray will be comfortable. Vegas likes Philadelphia. Arizona is becoming easy to predict. When Kyler is healthy and can run … they beat the Bills … they are good … they dominated the Giants. Kyler is healthy. He’s going to be moving. “
Actual final score: Cardinals 33, Eagles 26
Did Colin win?: Yes
Kansas City Chiefs vs. New Orleans Saints (+3.5)
Colin’s pick: Saints
Colin’s final score: Saints 28, Chiefs 27
Cowherd said:
“Like it, I love it. Saints are my bet of the week. The line is going to be all over the place. I bet it Monday; I got the Saints at 4. Brees is the starter and the number will probably come crashing down and you won’t get the number I got. The Chiefs’ red zone defense and red zone offense is not good. The Chiefs are allowing touchdowns, not field goals, on defense. They are scoring field goals, not touchdowns, on offense. This Saints defense is the story of this team. I like the Saints, who are still fighting for a No.1 seed.”
Actual final score: Chiefs 32, Saints 29
