After a 4-1 Week 10, Colin Cowherd warned that Week 11 was a “speed trap.”
His Blazin’ 5 picks deserve some sort of slap-on-the-wrist citation, since he only predicted one winner.
Cowherd swore off picking the Atlanta Falcons early in the season but chose them to cover (+4.5) against the New Orleans Saints. Also, he ripped the imploding Philadelphia Eagles but still saw them not only covering (+3.5) but winning outright. Picking both bird-named teams turned out to be a fowl.
Let’s hope he doesn’t burn his turkey as badly as his picks burned him.
Cowherd says Eagles are imploding
On Thursday, Colin Cowherd said “Philadelphia is imploding” amid multiple reports that the practices are “lousy.” He then ripped the Eagles for partying for a whole year after their Super Bowl win.
Listen, Colin. Boston has won a lot more titles than Philadelphia. We’ve been waiting a lifetime for it. If you ask anyone in the Philadelphia area about Super Bowl LII, they will say, “Aside from my wedding and the birth of my kids, this was the best moment of my life.”
Colin Cowherd’s 2020 Week 11 NFL picks
Cowherd’s Blazin’ 5 airs Friday on “The Herd” at 1 p.m. EST. We break down his picks for you here and follow up on Monday with his results.
If Fox Bet Sportsbook users wager on Cowherd’s “Boom Bet” and it wins, they usually quadruple their winnings.
Atlanta Falcons (+4.5) vs. New Orleans Saints
Cowherd’s pick: Falcons
Colin’s final score: Falcons 28, Saints 27
Cowherd said:
“The number is changing rapidly. Now I think the Saints with Taysom Hill are kind of experimenting at quarterback. I do not like that. The Falcons are coming off a bye. Raheem Morris isn’t only 3-1, he’s trying to win the head coaching job. In this division, he thinks he can get to a wild card spot. Atlanta since Week Six can move the ball. They have also allowed fewer than 30 ppg in five straight games. I’m going to take the Falcons with the upset win.”
Actual final score: Saints 24, Falcons 9

Philadelphia Eagles (+3.5) vs. Cleveland Browns
Colin’s pick: Eagles
Colin’s final score: Eagles 24, Browns 20
Cowherd said:
“Like it, I love it. Philadelphia is absolutely the play here. Philadelphia’s head coach, their quarterback and their practice habits are all under question. They are getting pulverized. They lost to the Giants, but they didn’t commit a turnover, and their defense is way better than Cleveland. The Browns have scored 10 or fewer points in four games this year; only the Jets have fewer. Cleveland struggles when they face better defensive lines because Baker struggles under pressure.“
*Last week, Colin correctly predicted a Giants (+3.5) upset over the Eagles.
Actual final score: Browns 22, Eagles 17
Did Colin win? No
Green Bay Packers vs. Indianapolis Colts (-2.5)
Colin’s pick: Colts
Colin’s final score: Colts 24, Packers 20
Cowherd said:
“Wise guys are split on this, but I get the Colts, who have extra prep time. The Packers defense has only created seven turnovers this year, the second fewest. Phillip Rivers is comfortable. He’s been sacked only eight times this year, the fewest in the league. The Colts defense will not make life comfortable for Aaron Rodgers. They are No. 1 in YPG allowed (290.4) and No. 1 OPP passer rating (78.9). Look at the numbers for Rivers. He’s not getting hit, he’s not getting rushed, he’s got a running game, the Packers don’t take the ball away.”
Actual final score: Colts 34, Packers 31
Did Colin win? Yes
Kansas City Chiefs (-8.5) vs. Las Vegas Raiders
Colin’s pick: Chiefs
Colin’s final score: Chiefs 36, Raiders 26
Cowherd said:
“Loved this number on Monday. It was Kansas City -6.5. I will still take it at -8.5. Andy Reid is 18-3 off a bye; it’s the best in the NFL by far. I get a team off a bye that got beat against the Raiders. The Raiders defense is below average. They have only sacked the QB 11 times this year. They have no pass rush. I get a healthy, well-coached team with extra time. There is a major COVID issue with the Raiders for the second time this year. It was my favorite play of the week on Monday.“
Actual final score: Chiefs 35, Raiders 31
Did Colin win? No
Los Angeles Rams vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers (-4.5)
BOOM BET: Brady to throw for three+ TDs and Bucs win
Colin’s pick: Buccaneers
Colin’s final score: Buccaneers 28, Rams 23
Cowherd said:
“The number was better early in the week. I bet seven Rams games this year, and I’m 6-1. It’s the team I feel best about. When Jared Goff is uncomfortable, he’s not the same quarterback: 4-0 at home, only 2-3 on the road. Andrew Whitworth is on the IR. Watch out, because this Bucs defense has the second most sacks, and this Bucs defense will force Goff to throw with a backup left tackle. If the Saints lose on Sunday, the Bucs watch that game and have extra motivation on Monday to win and make up a game, as Drew Brees is out.”
Actual final score: Rams 27, Buccaneers 24
